When I got a screw in the tread and took it to Discount Tire, because I off road a lot, they plugged it and then internal patched it. I have aired down to 12 several times with no problem. I do recommend you carry a tire patch/plug kit and an air compressor to be safe. (or have a friend you...
In my opinion, the Wildtrak is more like a desert racer and the BL is more of a rock crawler. For beach use, to me, it would make more sense to get the Wildtrak. You don't need a swaybar disconnect for the beach. My 2 cents.
Did some exploring around Hart Draw on the northeast side. Also where it "empties" into the plain that leads down to the Needles district of Canyonlands National Park. Some great overlooks.
I have bought vehicles from both, and both were great. I had the opposite happen to me, I bought my 2019 Raptor from Friendly and when I sent them a message about a Bronco they never got back to me. Team Ford, Rich Spah, a referral from this forum, was great.
No. I think someone found him. He said he could hear someone coming, and then there was no response to our radio calls. We tried several more times and then drove out. We always try to help anyone that has a problem on the trails.
I was with the rescue buggy in my RZR. He went down to the wall and I stayed up on the top (wife did not want to do the wall in the RZR). We had done Metal Masher and were heading out when we heard the call on the family radio. I thought the problem was at the other end on the trail near...
I have done Pritchett three times in my vehicle when I have the 4 door Jeep on 40's. The last time I did not need to be winched. Did it in the fall riding in my friends buggy and was amazed at how scenic the trail is. In the past, driving, I had to pay attention to the trail and didn't look...
Elephant Hill is one of my favorite trails. If it was closer to Moab, I would run it every couple of weeks. Did it a few weeks ago, no damage, just fun. The 2 door has plenty of range to get there and back. Great pictures.
Years ago Cliff Hanger was my favorite trail. But now, as you said, it has gotten a LOT tougher. I did it a couple of weeks ago riding in my friends buggy, and of course he made it look easy. I decided that I am not going to do it in my 2 Door Bronco on 37s because it really is a lot of work...
I wanted my driver seat higher. Had some hockey pucks around, drilled them, bought 4 longer bolts at the hdw store along with some washers, and put them under the seat runners. It was perfect for the trails at the highest setting, and it can be lowered for the road if I want. I can see the...
I made it down and back and still had about 1/4 tank left. I have the 2.7 and the Ford Performance tune with 37" tires. On the highway at about 65 I get close to 20 mpg. Going down to Needles and doing the Hart trail, since it was slower and tougher I ended up at 16.5 for the entire trip...
Get the Well's Moab 4X4 book. It lists all the popular trails and has great descriptions and ratings. Worth every penny if you are going on trails in Moab.
Did the Hart Point trail yesterday. It is on the plateau that overlooks the road into the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. First time on this trail (which is not in the Well's book) so it was exploring time. Went to several overlooks. It was more difficult than I expected, and...
Yesterday we did the Buckhorn Draw trail, which starts about 20 miles west of Green River, UT. It is about 75 miles of dirt road, not challenging at all. But the scenery is fantastic. After you go through the canyon you climb up onto a plateau and then we went to an overlook that looks down...
I have not had an issue with the crash bar mounts with my 37s. Occasionally I do rub the tire on the frame mount behind the front tire, but I really do not want to cut the frame anywhere. If you do, you will have trouble trading it in to a certified dealer, as there can be no frame mods done...
Yesterday took 2 Jeeps on the Elephant Hill trail. It is in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. Very challenging trail, but one of the most scenic trails in the Moab area, and a lot of fun. It includes going through the Devil's pocket and some cool wind caves. A Taco went off...
