I think itās a hard problem to solve since A LOT of people use them as a desert tire they really need to stand up to abuse in high heat without chunking which a lot of all terrains have a problem with. Thatās got to be tough on a tire compound to handle plus being able to stay pliable in bitter...
Iāve driven in the snow in K02s plenty of times and they were fine. We donāt get the shitty cold as fuck ice/slush that you do back east out though. I suspect that K02s are fine in the snow if the weather is relatively warm and just donāt do well in the bitter cold. Thatās why you get real snow...
This just not true. My family has used KOs for decades for work trucks out in remote areas and theyāve been fantastic. They arenāt a rock crawling or mud tire but they donāt claim to be. Backwoods or desert camping/fishing like Iām sure a lot of Bronco owners actually do they are great. If...
Ah if you have a good dealer thatās harder. Hopefully you wonāt have to deal with the service dept a lot on the Bronco regardless.
Stop & go was a must for me too but you can add it to the lux package with Forscan. I did it, took like 20 mins counting getting forscan all set up.
I donāt know that Jeep dealers are much better than Ford dealers in my experience. Personally Iād hold out for a lux package. Iād miss adaptive cruise.
Youāre not wrong but those things reduce fatigue on long drives to the desert which makes it more enjoyable and for me personally Iām more likely to do it. Both those things make it a better Raptor IMO since Iām more likely to use it for what it was built for.
Nice trip! I ran Lippencott with a buddy who had a not lifted 2WD long wheelbase Econoline and he made it. A Bronco definitely can. That being said I did not enjoy it in my Taco, too many ways for expensive body damage or rolling down a cliff.
Fordās website says evasive steering assist under the lux package.
Anyway I donāt want to derail the thread, I appreciate the real world mpg feedback!
Well thatās stupid but thanks for the info. I didnāt think it would be a big deal when I got the Taco but the number of times traffic slows below ~30mph and picks back up is more often than I expected.
Iām also thinking the Aviator drivetrain. Iām ok with that.
You can definitely live 20-30 miles from work and use a PHEV especially since a lot of people can charge at work.
I would be in for a PHEV Warthog. EV for most of my driving but maintains ability for long remote trips. People can fight against it all they want but EVs are the future and I canāt wait. Imagine how much nicer cities will be without all the air pollution and noise from traffic. I just wish...
