And again, they’ve denied warranty. Said there was too much mud and it was due to excessive off-road use. Claiming Ford would never reimburse them after they got the parts. Notes from the tech said customer “swamped it” ffs
I just paid to have the two pulleys replaced and at least it’s fixed now.
UPDATE TIME!
Looks like they're going to honor the warranty.
I went to the Dealership and spoke to the Service Manager. He said he'd contact Ford and do some digging. Fast forward 5 days. The Advisor called saying the parts had arrived and we could book it in (at $110 more than the original...
yeah the alternator stretch belt was changed but I have pulleys on the main accessories belt that got wiped out form “mud/water”
I spoke to the service manager face to face. He’s going to call Ford and see if they would accept the claim if they put it through. Small win for the time being
I recently went out on a local trail and found myself in some deep mud/water. After working the Bronco out, I got the dreaded Service Charging System fault message. I attempted to drive it home, but it died. I had it towed into the Dealership. Thanks to B6G, I found the TSB 22-2392 for the...
2.7 on the accessory side belt
wasn’t part or the TSB but it all happened during the same incident that caused the alternator failure. Has sure shaken my confidence on the trails that’s for sure.
So apparently when I killed the alternator in the mud, it also wiped out 2 or more pulleys says the Tech note. The alternator was covered under warranty but the pulleys won’t be ffs
They want to replace the three idler pulleys and the tensioner. When I asked why they don’t just replace the ones...
Update* they did install a new alternator with the shield under warranty. The problem now is the new alternator sounds like it came off a 1996 Aerostar, the whine is unbearable smh back she goes.
Update 2.0* they said drive it for the weekend and see if it goes away ffs
the worst of it was maybe 25-30" deep. Got momentarily stuck but was able to back out of it. The alternator side was definitely on the deeper side. If I gave it more, I might have made it out first shot but it would've been worse. I thought it was the line I took going in but I was wrong.
Add another fried alternator to the list. Got the service charging system warning after hitting a trail, it then lit up like a Christmas Tree. Almost made it home before it died lol. Thanks to this TSB, they're covering it under warranty. However, they didn't mention whether the cover would be...
I'm expecting a Flowmaster American Thunder axle back kit to be delivered today. Not much louder but still noticeable over stock.... and it was less expensive than most
Mine doesn't have one. I asked for it but the salesman had a glitchy computer. When he reentered the order, he missed the box for the free option, which wasn't installed.
I don't think I'll miss it too much though. It's nice not having to worry about damaging the insulation with gear/hockey...
