I did not sand. The texture is fine enough for adhesion of the vinyl. I also wanted to return it to factory condition if need be.

I do have some bubbling on one of the front panels. I may end up redoing it. I think it looks pretty good for my first attempt. If I redid it all, it would look better and still be under 400$. I’ll see how it does through this winter.

Following Budget bronco, I decided to wrap my 2 door top myself with 3m vinyl. I would not say it was easy or looks perfect but was definitely budget friendly. With some help from my wife, I thought it was a pretty good diy project. I hope it encourages others.

That’s a good idea. These larger wheels are quite heavy.

I will not have my 1971 Scout II put back together anytime soon, but it will probably be done before the EV Scout coms out 😎

Old thread but good question about plastidip on the mic top. I plastidiped a whole FJ. It still looked good after 2 years in AZ Sun. When I removed it, most pealed off and I pressure washed the rest.

I ordered a 2 door base HT so I know I have a long wait. In the meantime I’m driving an 08 FJ 6MT and slowly fixing up my Old 71 IH Scout II. I’m soooo looking forward to driving a new Bronco of my own.
