I installed mine without removing the soft top. After removing the windows, I just removed the 2 Torx+ bolts on the plastic piece closest to the pillar, allowing it to be lifted (but not removed). Then I used a small ratcheting wrench (10mm I believe) to remove the bolt under the plastic piece...
I have Milwaukee M12 stuff for the home, but I'm looking at Bauer (harbor freight) or Ryobi for an impact wrench to keep in the bronco. Would hate to lose an expensive tool on the trail or to theft.
Hmmm, the OPs photos seem to have the hooks coming from underneath, and are missing the hard plastic, allowing it to easily fold back without unhooking. I don't see how this is the same design at all. On mine, the hooks go over the top of the hard plastics and I am having to unhook and remove a...
Are you referring to the 2 hooks that go above the Aux switches in the center, or the 2 small hooks on the sides near the a pillars? Because it is impossible to flip it back with the hooks above the aux switches left on (the hooks and straps will prevent the hard plastic pieces from moving at...
I installed mine, but Jtops does not provide any good instructions for the softop. All of their videos only deal with the hardtop version. Anyhow, as far as I can tell, to engage the front soft top latches, I'm having to remove the 2 hooks from the holes above the aux switches, fold the hard...
I guess that was the internal debate I was having (admittedly, as a total noob). Of course my answer was "I would never do that, so when would I ever use gas cans?" Which made me question the usefulness of them (or if they were just a fomo/ GAS thing). But yours and a lot of the other's answers...
Sorry for the noob question.
So I'm having a debate with myself about mounting gas carriers to a bronco (or any off road vehicle). I feel like if I ever offroaded far enough away from the nearest gas station and ran out of gas, I'd probably be about 200-300 miles away. An emergency gas source...
Not bad. I've seen similar ones a while back from a different manufacturer for like $40 (no way!). I got D rings for those locations instead, and use a carabiner to hang stuff from it.
Do you plan to get grab handles? I got the Paracord ones and I hang my dry cleaning from them. It twists the handles a bit and thr clothing sits at a bit of an angle but that can even be resolved with a carabiner.
Did you change the design of these? I just installed a soft top version and the hooks go over the top of the hard plastic pieces. I have to unhook (and untension) the front end in order to fold them back and now it sags in the middle.
