Yep. It takes a little discipline, but I have found if I accelerate smoothly after stops, semi-coast downhill to maintain my speed (a lot of people speed up going downhill then slow down), and don't floor it to pass, I can easily get over 21, sometimes pushing 22+ MPG.
On the other hand, when...
I've not noticed any difference, and when I drive down 16 in Georgia I'm usually cruising in the mid-80s.
I installed the Aeroskin 2 a few months back, but in South Georgia the bugs are coming out in full force. At 80 MPH, the deflector lifts the bugs to the top half of the windshield.
You asked for confirmation in your reply, and then you criticize another for asking why in their reply.
No issues with people asking why. Sometimes people are genuinely curious.
One could inquire why you assumed the OP was a vegan. Why assume? Why ask?
More to the point - who cares?
My problem was the factory running board interfered with most commercial flaps. But with hoop steps, you should have a lot of good commercial options. Good luck!
Non SAS, so you should have the crash bar? I made my own.

Maximizing gas mileage is simple.
Drive like grandma (driving like this actually takes some discipline).
When I was breaking in the vehicle I took it easy. I was getting 21+, and sometimes 22+ (according to the on board meter).
Driving cruise at 65 keeps me well over 20, maybe close to 21...
I ended up using a thicker flap with drain grooves to reduce side splashing: Buyers Products Grooved Back Semi-Truck Mud Flaps - Pair, 24in.W x 24in.L, Black, Model Number B24PSRPB.
Either will do, though. Measure twice, cut a little, and then check for alignment in the crash bar. I cut along...
Well, after 335 miles last Saturday, mostly in the rain, and cruising around 84 MPH for long stretches, the pieces stayed in place. No leaks, so the insulation is not backing up water anywhere.
I think I'll just keep them as is and call it "done."
Woah! While your Retro is indeed impressive, I love that red '78! It even has the diamond plate running boards that my parent's old Bronco had when I was a kid!
That is an awesome old Bronco!!
Totally off topic - do you still have that '78 Bronco in your avatar?
I drove a red '78 as my first driver when I was a kid. It had the bench front seat. Loved that Bronco!!!
Mine is like this. I'm going on a 335 mile trek this weekend and we'll see how it holds up without the z strip.
To get the flush fit, I took a relatively wide, flat piece of metal (e.g., the handle end of a large fork), worked it under the hard top, and then gently nudged the insulation in...
I'd like to see what the z strip covering looks like when finished.
For a "final" version, I cut the pipe insulation along the precut seam, and then cut a section length wise and inserted it into the cavity, with the flat, precut seam edge exposed. Once in place, I took a flat piece of...
I’m tired of these auto companies forcing crap down our throats that we don’t want. It’s fine if there’s going to be an option for some consumers, but when they change the entire line when ice engines are far superior for every day use, well that drives me nuts.
If jeep does this, I hope they...
