An amp isn’t going to add that much bass unless you have amp with a bass booster in which the key does not have. Even then any full range speaker will be limited in ability to produce real bass.. The key will only increase the volume and improve overall sound quality through the DSP. The only...
Gotcha , the panel I have is mounted where the factory sub goes. It has the LCI7 , the Kicker mono amp, and on the back side the Kicker key. All in one place. You could mount the LCI7 in the storage under the floor.
I would take it in and have it updated. The last update works perfectly for me, which leads me to believe you have a bad update. I have mine scheduled between midnight and 3 connected to home WiFi. Never had any update issue. Also not sure if anyone has made Forscan changes that “might”...
I wanted 3 channel input capability along with ability to channel sum and or use auto mode. The summing function allows you to combine multiple input signals to the main channel output. It is typically most used when connecting to a factory system that has dedicated outputs for just the highs...
Sounds like an input/gain issue or ground issue. I know there were two specific ground options on my audio control line converter to help reduce noise. The system does wake up when you open a door and takes a minute or two to shut down when you close the door.
Amplification is like more horsepower, it’s always nice to have more. At a minimum you have more volume which is great with the top down or off. If you ride with the top down and want good sound go with an amplifier and upgrade to quality speakers. My only regret in my install is not buying...
Key definitely makes a huge difference with the right speakers and settings. Kicker CS are bright. Forscan settings make minimal impact. You can use factory output to your advantage.
IMO, Forscan is a waste of time on audio and you can use factory equalization or crossover to get amazing clean sound without adding redundant bass blockers, by using a nice line converter with dual amps and kicker dsp for highs. Many try to fix a problem that isn’t a problem, if you understand...
I want to think I got 20’ but honestly don’t remember. Measure the length of bronco + width, if your mounting the amps in the back, and that should be perfect.
Removed the cubby and used mesh sourced from Amazon. I built a reverse mold out of MDF and then pressed the mesh in the mold with a press so it would fit perfectly where the cubby was removed. Added a little hot glue on the back side of the mesh flange.
You can get great sound with far less and unless you a devout audiophile would never know the diff. I would ask for different options. 2-2500 installed and you should have great sound. I have ~ 1k ish and sound is phenomenal.
I obviously used 3/4 MDF I had laying around and more manual design and volume calculation, but I think I ended up about 5.5 tall.. Love the cut sheet and visual 3d modeling . Mine high tech was pencil and a pad.🤣🤣. Great work and nice build.
Nice work! Similar idea, mine hits hard as well. The rear portion is just a filler that pivots up for access. Almost level with seats down. The rear also serves as a good hideaway when tailgate is closed.
I have around 1k in mine and it sounds fantastic. No distortion at full volume and bass is dialed down. There is also a Kicker Key 200.4 on the backside of my amp panel that connects to my LCI7 as is the larger Kicker Amp is running mono at one ohm load. Alpine S series in the front dash and...
