Yeah. I've abused plugged tires and never had the plug ever be an issue. That doesn't mean one won't be and I don't plug if near the sidewall. I've also had punctures that required more than one plug to fill the hole that would become a dedicated spare.
If it's a simple screw well into the...
I've run plugged tires for years and never had problem with the plug on or off road. Some tires have had over 40K miles with a plug with no issue.
Most are easy enough to plug yourself instead of taking it to a shop.
I have 35x11.50s on Icons and am happy with the ride. Not really happy with their corrosion resistance but maybe that’s better. On and off road have been great.
Way too many variables to say safe, but as long as you don't lose a bead you should be fine. I like 16-18 for general use, but it also depends on the tire.
If the SL is a P-metric tire and the load rating of the vehicle is based on a LT tire, then they are not apples to apples comparison, if that is what you are asking. Reduce the load rating of the P-metric by 10% to equal the LT load rating.
In your example, the tire you want would be rated...
Don’t care about wheels. All I expect is they be round and hold air. The only time I change from OEM is for a performance upgrade.
OEM tires however rarely fit my needs. I’m quite particular about my tires. It amazes me how many give tires no thought at all when all the upgrades in the world...
How many times have you ever heard anyone say they wished they had higher gears?
Always go as low as you can, and even better get the locker. If you don't need it, you don't have to use it.
If it is McGuard, you email them a picture of the pattern and they will sell you the correct key.
This is one of the reasons I've gotten rid of any lug nuts that require a key. All it takes is a proper size 12 point socket hammered over them to easy remove them. If my wheels are going to be...
First, proper PSI does not matter if they are C, D, or E. PSI is specific to vehicle weight and tire size.
Start with a load rate table such as this: application_of_load_inflation_tables_20200723.pdf (toyotires.com) Adjust as needed. I tend to roll on the lighter side except on long interstate...
I've replaced tires at 75K and at 15K. Tread depth is just one factor of a tire's life span. Replace them when they tell you they need replaced. They're a wear item like anything else.
When you notice a real difference in performance, time to get new tires.
Problem is many people seem to think used wheels and tires are worth more than they are. Doesn’t matter how many miles are on them. They are used with no warranty. Price them like you want them out of your garage.
You’re asking for an objective answer to a subjective question.
I like skinny tires. Others like wide tires.
The best approach is to find the tire that best matches your intended use and split the difference on size if you don’t have a preference.
In general, more rubber, less wheel at...
The BD steelies are awesome for those narrow tires. I've had 255/80s and 35X11.50s on mine and will soon put on 37X11.50s.
I really don't mind the smaller look until someone with 13.50s parks next to me. I remind myself it's not about size, but performance. Or something like that...
