So, I am wondering if the front bumper that will contain factory fog lights -- Can the bulb be replaced by a brighter one ?

I would assume we would have access to it.

Any thoughts on its size?

Thanks

It’s a single LED unit. No bulb.

Ok, thanks.

Then do we know if this type of light is in any current production Fords?

I would also think then, the aftermarket will have other units that are brighter to swap in.
Hoping so anyway

Perhaps. No published plans yet, but if the Jeep aftermarket is any indication, people will be tripping over themselves to sell you something you can bolt in.

That said, I wouldn’t be so quick to assume the oem units won’t be bright. Unless you’re talking about a different beam pattern or something.

Right.

So here are backup bulbs from diode dynamics for the sport - with some serious upgraded lumens over stock

But the Sport didn't have [backup] LEDs in the taillights from the factory. It isn't an apples to apples comparison.

That makes sense.

I am thinking from the response here, our Broncos with LED's will be a sealed unit with no user / exchangeable parts.

Another area for thought though is the placement of the LED in relation to the filament for the halogen bulb. Do they not need to be identical position for maximum efficiency output and pattern?

Yeah. That’s what my point was.

All Broncos get LED headlights. Units equipped with them, get LED fogs. They are complete sealed units. No user service “bulbs.”

Units with “Signature Lighting” also get LED tailights, otherwise the standard tail lights are incandescent.

Also, I’m worried that this thread is going to hit 4 pages for no discernible reason.

Because we always want more? According to the other thread anyway...

Most people don't understand the purpose of fog lights.

They are intended to put out enough light so you can be seen by oncoming traffic. Anything brighter and your light is just going to bounce off the fog, and further inhibit your ability to see forward.

If you just want to go blazing down the road blinding everyone coming your way and be that asshole, just get a fucking lightbar!

Not much fog around here. But the yellow fog lights should work better in fog.
I will be sticking to off road lights. I go off road way more then I ever drive in fog.
