As we previously learned, the 2021 Ford Bronco will offer a 2.3-liter engine option, which has now been further confirmed by a parts leak from a Canadian Tire store.
This discovery comes by way of tablet used to lookup parts which contained a listing for the 2021 Ford Bronco with 4-140 2.3L DOHC engine when searching for spark plugs. The “4-140” undoubtedly refers to four cylinders displacing 140 cubic inches, the exact specifications of the 2.3-liter engine used in the 2019 Ford Ranger.
Bronco6G users have known for some time that this is likely one of two engines offered in the 2021 Ford Bronco (program code: U725), with the other being a V6 (2.7-liter we are told).
It remains to be seen if the 4-cylinder Bronco will match or exceed the Ford Ranger’s 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque but one thing we know for sure, is this is going to be a long wait, as we are well over a year away until production begins.
