I do not have, nor have I purchased a Bronco yet. I’ve been looking and talking to dealerships and reading this forum pretty regularly. I’ve been so turned off by this vehicle I fell in love with after my test drive just due to all the scandalous things I’ve been reading. I still plan on ordering when the books open up because I just can’t justify any markups, but hopefully this forces some change…

Ford Order Name-Match Policy Changes
Next month (June), Ford will increase its name-match threshold to 75%, up from the current requirement of 70%. As a result, dealers will need to ensure that more verified orders are delivered to the customers they were ordered for. With the changes, dealers will have a lot less leeway in case the names don't match up on a car.
In addition, a provision allowing 120 days from the "order receipt date" and "dealer delivery date" will be totally eliminated, forcing every violation to count against dealers. An appeals process for dealers will also take into account the sale date as opposed to the order date, affecting 2022 Fords sold on or after June 1st.
Ford's changes are likely meant to reflect the reality that more customers are placing orders rather than buying a car or truck off the lot. Given that demand has far outstripped supply, stricter name-match rules could be a good thing for consumers. Last month, the company even stopped taking 2022 F-150 Lightning orders.
If dealers violate the policy, they risk severe penalties. The biggest change is a 1-month "total allocation forfeiture." There doesn't appear to be much room for error, with a dealer's 3rd violation resulting in "expulsion" from the company's Name Match and Integrity Policy as well as other imposed limitations.
80% Ford Name-Match Policy Coming
Whether or not Ford will really become an "order-only" car brand remains an open question. However, Ford's dealer announcement also gives us a peek at its future intent, stating that it has a "plan to increase to 80% after the launch of 23MY vehicles." This would mark a major move in the direction of an order-focused brand.
As we reported recently, Ford is planning to significantly reduce the complexity of stocked vehicle configurations. This may compel more car buyers to place an order. Once implemented, this could potentially limit the ability of a consumer to buy the car they want from dealer stock, already complicated by a chip shortage.

Cool deal on @Ford Motor Company wanting to match names. It still does nothing about the larger problem of surprise ADM on delivery that is really damaging their name/brand. Progress is progress I guess though.
Actually it should. This increases the power of the person who submitted the order. If Ford continues to increase the % required, the dealers can't push as hard for more ADM.

As long as there is a shortage of vehicles compared to demand, the dealers will have leverage. Higher percentage name match will just limit how far they can push things.

At the very least, this might force dealers to be upfront, so there isn't a surprise ADM at delivery.

This doesn't apply to reservation holder orders, those are on a separate program. This is the COVP program which is most vehicles new Bronco orders (from 22, not reservations).

This sounds good, but could really end up hurting the consumer. If the fuel prices start causing customers to back out of Expedition orders putting a dealer over the 25% allowance, now you won't be getting your Bronco due to the dealer loosing his allocation. Also I'm a little upset about the dropping the 6 month excuse, if they can't get it to the customer in 6 months, there shouldn't be any punishment.

Every time one of these "Ford is cracking down on....." threads come up, I just roll my eyes.

Ford isn't doing shit. They never will. Dealers will keep doing whatever they can for more profit, that's all they care about. Anytime something happens that curtails one particular avenue of profit, they'll just do something else - and then go back to whatever they were doing in the first place once they think nobody is looking.

Ford had the opportunity - they've had MULTIPLE opportunites - to do the right thing, and they keep failing spectacularly.

They should have produced Broncos in the order that they were reserved, and the orders were placed, starting way back in July 2020. But, they built Broncos for dealers to display, and use as demo vehicles, then turn around and mark up to the moon and sell - while reservists and order holders waited, and waited, and are STILL waiting.

They could have - and SHOULD have - punished dealers who gouged customers with ADM by fining those dealers whatever amount they tried to screw over the customer by. They should take Broncos away from shady dealers and get them to the customers who ordered them, at MSRP. They should go down the list of Broncos built but not yet sold, match them up with existing unfilled orders, and deliver them to the customers who have been waiting for so fucking long.

Are they doing any of this? Of course not. They don't fucking care.

So what happens when your dealer is penalized or expelled?
As for ADM, I have zero problem with it. It helps resale value for those fortunate to get one through ordering at MSRP. It only hurts those that are impatient and want to skip the line most of us are stuck in.
Dealers should have 0% orders for themselves while there are willing customer orders and only given a few different showroom models for display ONLY! They can only sell the showroom models when that years MY is over. No need for dealer stock to sell when there are well over 100,000 orders on hold!
Also, @Ford Motor Company if it’s been over 6 months since someone placed an order reach out to them before assigning a build date. You will save yourself a lot of excess builds that way. What an unbelievable failure at execution by management. But let’s guess, you gave promotions and bonuses to all the managers in charge of this cluster f@ck and no consequences what so ever.
Signed an extremely frustrated Ice Mountain customer…

The should have never taken a reservation, they should stop taking deposits on unpriced vehicles, they should only take orders, no more reservations. Bronco should have been opened when the 21 ordering came out, that would stop all the ADM on reservations whining since they'd have a price when they ordered it online with or without ADM, there would be no doubt what your paying. The reservation process added to much fog to the system.

So since I was part of the infamous DCH of Eatontown shit show that happened here, I can give further insight into this:

I was reached by the Bronco Specialist at DCH Ford around Christmas of this past year to send an email to them saying I refused my order because they where below their percentages they where supposed to be with completing orders.

Yeah I know what your thinking-I but sent them the email anyways because I didn't want to screw myself since I had a 2022 on order with them.

I had a couple people who had reservations with them reach out to me and they've paid MSRP for their Broncos.

My Bronco was just built and should be there at the dealership in a few weeks with an agreed upon price of MSRP.

So long story short-this is having an effect on dealerships, even though you might not see it directly.

I'd like to think my incident here with others has helped future buyers down the road with this. Plus as the market supply gets better, hopefully this ADM nonsense will go away.

This shit right here is why Ford doesn't give any information. Sure, this may not make a significant change to how dealers handle ADM, but people are given information and still bitch and complain or "what about" to death.

This is good. Whether it makes a noticeable difference or not remains to be seen but overall, this is a good step.

This doesn't apply to reservation holder orders, those are on a separate program. This is the COVP program which is most vehicles new Bronco orders (from 22, not reservations).
From when I read the COVP as you said doesn't apply to older orders and reservations, but at this point they should extend that if for no other reason than to force dealers to complete a sales agreement.

It would also be a clear statement to dealers "hey you got to do this specifically if you want any of your older orders or reservations filled" because I sense that COVPed orders are getting priority over reservations. My week one reservation is still languishing without a build date while my November 21 order got built. The November 21 order the dealer wanted a sales agreement and everything so they could COVP the order even though it wasn't officially required for Bronco's at that time.

I've tried to get my dealer on the reserved Bronco to do a sales order (they claim it is impossible without a VIN, but other dealer put a lie to that), and to submit it under the current COVP for broncos under a "well it can't hurt" basis. After pushing that the dealer eventually said "Oh when we copied your license that is all we needed to meet that requirement".

So not only do I have this languishing order where a COVP might help, I have the potential thrill of them pulling out the ADM claim when it finally comes in despite the whole time stating it would be MSRP.

Meanwhile the one that is built doesn't seem to want to get delivered and interest rates go up. What fun.
