Finally got around to looking at my engine number. Damn. I'm a 21161.

Still running strong around 2400 miles, but that's worrisome.

good info, but the most important data point is ENGINE build date - imbedded in its serial number

Wow, thx update, I remember your post Friday afternoon. At least no accident - everyone okay.
As others mention here, if the engine is blown it'd be very helpful to know the engine build-date - see photos below and in OP. Maybe the service dept can take a look and provide it to you -
Replacement usually several weeks - check-out the repair threads** in OP -

so....in the photo above, 21308 defines the build date for that engine...Nov 4, 2021. Or...the 308th day of calendar year 2021

The busted engine build dates go from April to November, so you got company !
so....basically any year in the 21st century ending in "21"?

The #308 was just an example of what sticker to look for. Don't believe we've seen a Nov failure yet. Fingers crossed
As stated before. Thats my sticker off my motor and it’s strong super strong 💪🏽 no issues 2,208 miles. 🤙🏽

** threads covering their repair experiences - (lines 17, 10, 12, & 1)

- so far the engine build-dates run 21160 - 21216 - see how to read Engine Ser#

- the frequency of failures seems less than last month
- in October a Ford employee (@Jay3630, deleted soon after) made five posts re 'bad batch of brittle valves' - 'April batch' - see posts #1, #2, #3, #4, #5
- if the failures are caused by 'bad valves', maybe that 'April batch' has been working its way thru the system - then the problems could subside

If Your Engine Fails - dealer service of course, also :
- good to call Ford Customer Svc
- good to send VIN & full name to @Ford Motor Company here in B6g
- and the engine ser# would be very helpful in B6g build-date tracking efforts

example Engine Ser# Labels -

@Lucchese Do you have an idea of how many in the list of 20 have had engines replaced at this point? Trying to gauge how long I’ll be waiting.
Similar to another poster I too only had the one vehicle and having it crap out during the holidays is far from ideal. I ended up buying a 2012 Honda Pilot as a second car since A) I need a reliable car … and B) A 2 door Bronco is not the best in terms of room for hauling stuff.

FWIW to everyone reading this, my dealer is being contacted by Ford Customer service every 3 days and Ford is reporting back to me. My dealer has yet to call except for the one call letting me know my engine was toast. I guess they’ll call when there is actual updated info, but I’m still glad I got Ford involved. Thanks for the advice @Lucchese.
