It’s cause Ford would much rather have you pay a subscription fee (thousands of dollars) to access their internal service manuals and diagnostic tools (FDRS) through their online portal.

Luckily some states require that Ford sell service information, so Ford is forced to sell CDs with service manuals. I mean… they could just give us access to the online portal, but then we’d have the secret sauce and wouldn’t need our dealer service center anymore.

But, cd’s are so 1970. I can’t view them on my iPad or my new laptop.

The the low low price of $3,549.90/ year you too can use your iPad or new laptop to view Ford's service manuals online and use Ford's diagnostic software.

Or just buy the CD.

Connect a temporary external CD reader, make an ISO file and store on your internal SSD, and mount as a virtual drive. Then you can use your laptop w/o CD.

70's??? This comment makes me feel so old. I remember having my first CD-ROM in the early 90's and I was I kid by then. I was born in the floppy disk era.

In less than 50 days we will begin traveling full time in a Motorhome pulling the Bronco, I’m really trying to downsize and won’t have a place to work on the Bronco anyway.

Will be putting all my fuel on my Ford credit card so I suppose I will use FordPass reward points to pay for whatever the warranty doesn’t cover.

Don't remind me, it crashed every 10 minutes, to this day, I still live with the habit of hitting save every 9 minutes.

Ive had the full workshop manual for a month now. Its in digital pdf format and its saved in my macbook & iphone. Close to 15000 pages if you include the wiring manual.

Does it show the locations of the attachment clips for the interior panels? I would like to pull the cargo area panels to do some installation work and I hate when I miss the position of a clip and snap it off. Just want to make sure I'm getting the right thing - I have a Bentley's for when I had my Z3 and it was great at pointing out the hidden stuff...

Guess I'm getting some more use out of that cheap HP laptop I got for Forscan - just going to have to 'borrow' my wife's Superdrive from her Mac to have a CD/DVD player for it...
