A buddy of mine has seen the “un-camoed” version, and while he didn’t get a long time to look it over he said he doesn’t remember the flares being hideous abominations….so maybe these are still hiding something…

The flares look like someone grabbed a big plastic garbage can and some scissors to make something to fit on their Bronco.

Ford must have run out of money for designers if this is all they could come up with. Unless there are some serious beans under the skin they are selling out and banking purely on name. Too bad, they had a real opportunity here. Maybe I am being too critical, we will see tomorrow.

The only thing that tends to make me agree with you is the half-assed "mud flap" they used the screw the bumper and the flare together. Definitely not ready for prime time. Even half the 3M tape in Dearborn apparently wasn't enough to hold 50 lbs of Rubbermaid garbage cans on each side.

Not that I really care, but I'm going with Ford trolling this.

One thing I can guarantee... if this is the real deal, wannabees are STILL going to copy them... along with the typical Raptor lights... "FORD" grille... and the amber signature lights... oh, and that ridiculously massive gap between the rear wheels. SMH

EDIT: Looking at the camo pics, the "mud flap" actually has a production look to it. Even though there's not much clearance for the filler door, the front part of the flare looks like it might open with the door.

Apparently, the Rockstars that designed the interior are designing flares now.

I think Ford found themselves between a rock and a hard place - or in this case, a door and a tire. The front half of the rear flare follows the rear door curve, so it has a similar arc. But the back of the rear flare has the angle that they wanted all over (which works better when you scale up the tires). So you have a discontinuous, ugly shape to the rear flare.

There isn't enough room to square the front half with the rear doors right there. And if you round the backend, then you end up with a front flare that is angular (to fit larger tires during turns and flexes) and a rear flare that is a smooth curve - as if they couldn't make up their minds.

A true fix would require changing the rear doors and the body panels where they meet. That's too much for a low-production one-off like this. Oh well. Since I'm not in the market for an off-road vehicle that can go 0-60 in 4 seconds but handles like a Camry on stilts, it doesn't affect me.

Well, here are the flares unmasked. The question is are they really that bad? I’m starting to think it might just work. Could’ve been the excessive camouflage that was throwing us off.

Th overall shape reminds me of the bronco R. I like them but I don’t know why they gave it that lip to mount it to the fender.

That would have been awesome… that’s unfortunately not what they did.

They Goonies Slothed it.

That is objectively awful. Those flares look like an off the shelf Auto Zone accessory. Same aisle as the adhesive hood scoops.
