What's this? Sensible/realistic thinking realizing we know nothing of how it got to that number?

Pffft......that's not allowed....why think like that when we can freak out at every little thing? lol

In related news, I heard the gas cap door isn't powered - everybody panic!!!!

---

Lol, seriously - it's great having discussion, but there's a ton of unnecessary panicking at every little thing when we don't know full info on the forum.
No gas cap actually. Being a Ford they are all capless now..

Apples to oranges I know but this is what my F150 2.7 4x4 3.73, says on the display. I reset it at my last oil change. Combination of city traffic, a bunch of idling, and one trip from So Cal to Utah.

The trip shows 157mi in 2:44. That's highway driving if I'm reading the numbers right.

It's not the best MPG but I wasn't expecting great numbers with any trim.
Offroading for a portion of that will drag the average down real quick.

Total guess...but your MPG clearly states AVG... the pic in my original post does not. That would indicate my guess was correct and it was actual current mpg and NOT averaged.

Now we know actually is basically never as high as EPA, so if its getting 16, the epa prob would be 19ish...

Wikdtrak will be the tell all since it comes with 2.7 + SAS ... at least for me... so hopefully we'll get some good info this week and next.

So it's ridiculous to say they were rock crawling a significant amount, but a safe assumption they were driving 10 mph below the speed limit on the highway? Ok.

There is not a single indicator to that without assumptions.

Big wheels will kill the mpg. I’m averaging less than that on my 2015 4runner. It has 33s on it. The Sasquatch is going to be a gas hog.
I disagree.....The low & proper gearing keeps The mileage up, but the extra weight of the tires doesn’t help

Coming from the West they would most likely be on I-70 for most of those 150 miles and it's definitely 80mph.

They are running trails and such with long periods of idling. I wouldn’t put too much faith in the vehicle’s computer mpg estimate when they’re not actually doing city/highway driving.
My thoughts exactly.
