Yea I think it is 16" from my measurement!
Agree, clearly looks like an additional 16" to 18" in the 4 door, so this would make the 4 door 40" vs the 2 door 24"

Cargo volume for 2-DR behind rear seat is 23.6 ft^3; cargo volume for 4-DR behind rear seat is 35.6 ft^3. That means the 4-DR has 50% more cargo space than the 2-DR.

At most, the 4-DR cargo length will be 1.5*(2-DR cargo length). But I think it would be less than 1.5* because the increased width once you get above the fenders. But I'm just guessing here.
So based on the volume, with 50% increase, that would make the 4 door 36" vs the 2 door at 24"

So averaging the two estimates the 4 door would be 38" vs the 2 door 24", or an increase of at least 14" and maybe as much as 18", if it turns out to be 42".

If the cargo space between the 2 and 4 door is practically the same, that might just make me switch back to the 2 door.

What am I gaining besides doors and greater shoulder room for people in the back on the 4 door?
Maybe a touch more stability on the highway but you would be "losing" about $3k on price? #notgoingtolookthatuprightnow

This is a key point. Somewhat shocking when I read that answer up top too!

Great question. I think they should. He said about 4 feet wide. A driver is about 45-46 inches. Might have to go on a slight diagonal, but shouldn't be an issue.
That was my thought as well. As long as they fit I am good

? So if the rear cargo area is 6" deeper, and the rear seat leg room is roughly the same, where is the extra 10" length going between the 2 and the 4 door?

"2 door: roughly 2 ft deep x 4 ft wide x 3 ft tall. 4 door: roughly 2 ½ ft deep x 4 ft wide x 3 ft tall."

Agreed. I’m sure this has been posted before, but would you need an additional lift kit on the stock badlands to put on 35s? Would that void warranty?

Let's see here...what from this list requires the 10-speed auto?
- 17 inch wheels? Nope.
- 35 inch tires? Nope.
- Electronic locking axles? Nope.
- 4.7:1 final drive? Nope.
- High clearance suspension? Nope.
- Bilstein shocks? Nope.
- Trail Control? THERE IT IS.

Definitely a necessary feature.
Wait isn't trail control included in all autos anyways? Or is it only on higher trims? If it is included then that's the worst kind of stock deflection answer there is. "Some of these"?

Words are starting to fail me

Awesomely. Lots of good info to pick apart in there. Also a fewer concerning things as well though. Rear door isn't reinforced to support heavier wheels but is also not removable? ?

That's not exactly what they said. The rear door is most likely made to support the 35s and therefore no need for any extra reinforcement. Would be more concerning if it was needed.

So like I thought badlands and Sasquatch are the same suspension. Woot! Great news.

Get the badlands MT and add 35s later.
Yep this solidifies that decision. Not to be too pointed about it but it literally says that it's the same suspension in different wording on the compare/trim level sheets, too many people reading what they want to read or... not reading in this case. Stock badlands doesn't need the sasquatch IMO.

Need some help here. Really want to stick with manual transmission. So if I build a manual badlands...then upgrade on my own to 35s. Does this mean I will be compromising my transmission?
People ride on bigger tires all the time. Badlands seems built for 35s.

Thanks. My bad. Didn’t know if new limited travel difference details would affect lift rqmts.

couldn't that also mean that the hinges were designed to take a heavier tire?

Are there going to be more than two wheel options (Ford only lists the 16 in steelies and the 17in that come as part of the Sasquatch package) on the base model?
