Looking for inputs about your experience with this top.
  • Fit/finish (for the 2 door Bronco)
  • interior sound level compared to the hardtop with roof rails
  • NVH compared to the hardtop (popping sound)

Do you know if the rear top is still removable? I think it just makes your top into a targa?

Frustrating how Ford didn’t think out some better options.

I believe you're correct...like a targa top. It sounds like you may want a bimini top if you plan to remove the rear cap AND want something over the front seats.

I installed it then took it back off. There was about 1/4" gap along the back edge where the sunrider meets the hard top. I'm going out of town for a week and I worried it would leak.

3 days ago I opened a support case with @Bestop_Team but havent heard a word from them.

The gap is along the entire rear edge except in the center where the mounting bracket connects the sunrider to the hard top.

Looking for inputs about your experience with this top.
  • Fit/finish (for the 2 door Bronco)
    • Finish seems nice. All hardware is covered with what looks like powder coat or paint. Twill is nice, plastic bits look like a good match to MIC color/texture
  • interior sound level compared to the hardtop with roof rails
    • couldn't test this. I took the top off before driving it
  • NVH compared to the hardtop (popping sound)
    • couldn't test this either but havent had any popping issues with my hardtop
  • quality of twill compared to vinyl
    • I haven't had a vinyl top for comparison
  • any sealing issues for air or water
    • see video. while i didnt test it, i am sure water would leak in with the size of that gap.

I had mine on a 4-door for one day and it scratched my paint.

I've had a case open with them for a month now (literally) and have spoken with them multiple times, but the person working on my case is always "in a meeting," so I assume they're blowing me off at this point.

On mine, and in the one they show in their promo shots, there are rivets (I believe they're rivets) which make direct contact with paint.

Considering opening a credit card dispute since I'm now outside their return window or cutting off the long part of the rivets since Bestop is not helping.

Functionally, FWIW, it was pretty good although I found there was significant wind noise in the center of the header area - similar to the poster above, it almost seems like the top should be 1/2" or so longer from front to back.

Mine has a foam pad there covering that rivet area…. I think. I’ll have to look again when I get back next week

Yeah I asked if I was missing something...but they've been "looking into it" for a month now.

I've heard good things about this company for Jeeps. @skiborsy What you're showing looks like a design issue.

@Bestop_Team, How about giving these guys a call and making things right.

@j_anderson and @skiborsy

I found this other thread and the OP was able to resolve his issue by adjusting the header and latching mechanism.

Note: This fix doesn't resolve the gap between the sunrider and rear cap.

I put mine on Monday on my 2 door. I guess I need to pull it back up now and check to see if I had the same issue. I hope not, I LOVE my sunrider on my JK

twill on both the bronco and the JK, its really great. I've had the one for... I dunno, 6 years maybe, it's held up great. It has one small 2" rip in it from when a tree and I had a disagreement while sliding backward down a muddy hill (in the end we agreed to disagree and go our seperate ways). I was happy to see the rip never expanded or got frayed. Theres nothing like being able to pop the top open while sitting at a stop light, then close it as you pull into the driveway.
