I have been pretty happy with this setup, as it mounts the boards solidly to the tire with easy access if needed. The roof wasn't an option, both kids, and myself, prefer to explore the state forest by us with the roof of.
This is how I mounted them. I didn't want them horizontally across the top of the tire, although that would have been even easier. I drilled new mounting holes to lift the boards and give clearance to the bumper. The plate was designed around Maxtrax boards so the pins bolted right on. I have been out in the woods and mud holes a few times, they haven't move moved and they don't rattle at all.

Wonder if there is a way to mount this to the RC Tailgate reinforcement plate...

I appreciate the insight. I guess just threading some small rachet straps through wheel and board is less then ideal solution. Ha.
No worries. I honestly would have went that route if not for the access to the rear tire. Getting a hand me down Rock Slide setup also helped. This wouldn't be the most economical solution had I had to purchase everything. But for the limited use, day trips, this works really well for me.

Sorry, that I can't answer.

Some more info: The BadAss tents spare tire mount fits some other brand of recovery boards, not MaxTrax using MaxTrax pins, so that may not be a good investment. Regardless of that, the MaxTrack really struggle to clear the rear bumper on the stock spare tire placement. As of now I'm probably going to bite the bullet and go american adventure lab STP. Had I done that from the beginning I'd probably have it already and be ready to roll.
Did you get the Adventure Labs STP?

I was, unfortunately I don't have any other pics with me. I will try and get a better detailed set of pics and info this evening.
So to confirm the setup, you've got the Rockslide Engineering EZ Rack strapped to the tire, and then on one of those plates you've got the RacksBrax MaxTrax carrier, which you custom mounted by drilling some new holes into the RacksBrax. Is that right?

Testing out our maxtrax molle mount as we speak!

We believe in displacing as much weight away from the oem tire carrier as possible to minimize stress to the tailgate sheet metal. We incorporated an accessory arm to our support kit to mount a rotopax/antenna and now the traction board system w/ 1 gallon tank!

testing out afew different ways to stabilize the boards, after sufficient desert testing and a few revisions we will be releasing all the details!

The OBX stock wheels have spokes in good places to mount the ROK Straps so the Maxtrax's are off to one side. Attached just like the Jeep video but located off to the side so the camera still works. You only see a small part in the camera. You have to mount it as high as possible or the backup sensor beeps every time you put it into reverse.

And here I am thinking there was plenty of room 🤷‍♂️

Were you thinking horizontally against the wheel face, above the camera? This is what I'm envisioning, just waiting to see someone else do it and if it fits.
It's not the easiest on and off and we'll see how well they stay put on rough roads but imma find out.

I added the Hammer Bilt reinforcement kit with the Maxtrax plate ordered (still in R&D. While waiting for the Hammer bilt plate I was able to mount the RacksBrax plate for now.

Ill post a option that's a little different. Mini's. In the winter the stay strapped to the back of the rear seats. They can link together if you like or put them under all 4 tires.

Also fits snug, right between the back seats and the wheel wells
