My takeaway is this is proof positive that a modern automatic transmission puts a manual to shame, every time. The auto made it out in just 2 tries (let alone, he darn near made it out on Try #1). The manual tranny made 5 attempts, before finally climbing out.

The only reason I can see to buy a manual in today's modern world is purely for nostalgia, like buying a tube amp and a record player. Worse gas mileage, worse off-road capabilities (no torque converter!), and you just can't sip your Starbucks Vente drip, whilst comfortably tooling along!

JM2C, YMMV, and IMHO

I was thinking the exact same thing....
It is awesome to see, but I mean I guess I just don't get it lol.

Like even the Rubicon and Moab. I knew they were very tough off road trails I had no idea they were that extreme lol.

There are so many thousands of built rigs and I guess it's like any other sport … people get bored and want to push boundaries. Like the reason things like tow in big wave surfing were invented. I have probably watched every damn hut tub jeep video on youtube over the last couple of years. Just an incredibly cool natural obstacle.

Oh yeah and 2.7 auto clearly dominates <ducks>

Amazing videos. The fact that we can option our Broncos from the factory with the same equipment and level of performance is mind blowing.
I like to keep my trucks for a long time, so I cannot see my Bronco in that hole for a long time, but man that curb at the DQ better watch out.

Don't forget more smiles per gallon with a manual transmission

The biggest takeaway I got from that is the 2.7l made that look easy, especially once the line was a little better (more driver's right). Just about able to slow crawl that up. Pretty amazing at 45 degrees!! WOW!!
