I wonder how it compares to my 97 TJ. The TJ has the 4.0 six and 5 speed manual. Fun to drive around town but very slow. It has only 180 HP, I believe. But I am a little disappointed how heavy the Bronco is going to be. On the other hand I did test drive a 2020 F 150 (extra cab, not crew) with the 2.7 and was very surprised the get up and go. So the 2.7 should move the Bronco pretty good. The 2.3 we will have to see I guess. With a manual it might be fine. The automatic does benefit from 10 gears though, keeping the power band available.
The 2.3 scoots my Ranger around really quickly once the 10 speed transmission wakes up. I think it will just be fine in the Bronco (which is only a little porkier)

How can it be so heavy with aluminum doors, hood and gate? That boron sport bar like 1000lbs?
They have certainly tried to trim some fat where they could. I believe the control arms are aluminum also right?

Its large and body on frame and built to handle tough offroading. That means heavy.

35" tire/wheel combo will be 100lbs/ea x 5. Fully boxed frame, roll over protection, etc. It adds up quickly.

That's why I ended up installing a turbo on the 4.0 six in my LJ. I've never driven the 2.7 F150 but I have a 3.5 in my F150 super crew, 10speed, 6" lift & 35" MT tires and it hauls ass.

Then if left as-is, it puts base 2dr to base 4 dr @ 180 lbs?
The 2 door comes standard with a hard top. 4 door comes standard with a soft top. The standard hardtop adds a lot to that weight difference. If they all came standard equipped with soft tops it would make a little more sense.

Does anyone know what the specs will be for the 4 door and 2 door in regards to Gross Vehicle Weight?

Funny seeing people complain about the curb weight in relation to the engine choices. Just food for thought, 90’s Broncos had about 205 hp with a curb weight of 4600 lbs. To me, there shouldn’t be any issues with even the base engine on the 4 door even fully loaded. Ranger has max gross weight of 6500 lbs and an even higher tow rating. But if yall wanting to drag race, you might be in the market for the wrong vehicle.

I don't think anyone knew this when the weights first came out, but it starts to make a little more sense with that bit of info.
