Update from FORD TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO MY DEALER (Bottom photo)
7Qt fill directive

I’ve always changed my oil in all my cars as did my dad….
Anyway, from new….my Bronco dip stick read well up into the twist…. Wondered why they overfilled the oil at the factory….?????
I changed the oil in my 2..7 at 1800 miles. With 6.4 qts in it was at max full mark….

At 6400 miles I went to my dealer to get it serviced and have this 7 quart issue explained….
The service tech explained when he changed my oil that he added 7 quarts…
That… having it measure well into the twist on the dip stick was normal.
But if ever was above the twist…that it is definitely overfilled….
(His words to my ears)

So drove home 2miles to my house… waited for the engine to get stone cold… checked my oil ( multiple times ….much to my shock!!! it was well above the twist.

I pulled the bash panel and started to drain some oil….

What I discovered totally set me back!!!
(the oil) was “BLACK” (WTF😡🤬).

with this, I drained out all of the Oil…. “Black”… Black!!!!!🤬😡🤬

photos self explanatory….new oil vs 2 mile oil from Ford dealership)
Feast your eyes on (what is supposed to be) 7 quarts of fresh oil!!!!!

I’m pissed…. I will never trust anyone but myself (FORD IF YOUR LISTENING)!!!!
I hate being scammed!!!!!!
Not all Ford Service Techs are honest!!!!!

update: Just checked the 100 pound torque on the lug nuts…. They WERE NOT 100ft lb torque spec …. Nor were they torqued evenly…
😡

FYI here is what measured on the dip stick after 5 quarts added when I replaced the oil the dealership didn’t. When finished I ended up at the max fill hole with 6 quarts total.

We he didn’t say he drained any 🤣🤣 Always have to check. I’ll change mine until I’m unable to do so.

That is truly messed up for sure but for the price of an oil change I prefer to have the dealer(not yours lol)just do it and if I ever have an engine issue that requires warranty work, all the oil changes are documented with the dealer. A catastrophic engine failure and no record of oil changes could lead to a dispute.

I heard there's a new schtick coming out. Don't know if it will be a TSB, Recall or tough crap only new builds get the updated one. Again, I 've not seen anything "official".
He order the new one he thinks
MB3Z-6750-B might be the new number. Someone dare me to order a couple.....
Not sure if he got the new one in yet.

Ummm it doesn't take very long at to "turn black" or darken. Especially since you can't extract every drop of old oil, that speeds the process in turning it into a darker color....

After2 miles?????? all of the engine oil was in my drain pan (from the dealer)…

The Motor never even got up to temp….
Even mixed with residual oil it doesn’t turn black like that…..

that is!!!! Exactly what it is…. My oil after 4K miles from my first change….

WITHOUT QUESTION THAT IS NOT Fresh oil….

**** even my oil in my boat to store it for winter looks fresh….. this is oxidized aka “Black”

I respectfully disagree with you.

So the service receipt indicates that you supplied the 7qts. Are you insinuating that the tech kept your oil that you supplied and never drained the old oil? I see the drained black oil. Just wondering what happened to the oil you supplied to the tech.

the only way to really tell is to taste it. if it has a bitter aftertaste it's old; if it is tart but finishes with a hint of old spice it is new oil.

edit that is some bullshit though, i'd be pissed.

yea my thoughts too!!!!

Don’t know why someone would steal fully synthetic oil… would you????

It’s not that expensive and definitely not worth losing your reputation or job over???

A mistake or oversight is understandable… but for some reason dishonesty and or laziness I kind of take personal….
