You lost me at twists. That's called cross hatching. And that is what oil looks like after you change it on a dirty engine. 3000+ oil changes tell me so.

He probably just grabbed another Bronco thinking "there can't be another Bronco for service on the lot" and changed the oil on a brand new Bronco.

J/K That's messed up, hopefully they fix it and more.

see the twist at the right of the photo (well past the max fill hole… it’s an issue many on this forum are concerned with…

and
You are correct the oil they were changing had 4 k miles on it…. What is pictured is right after I drove it home from the dealership oil change/service.

hope that makes sense

Understood. If you are concerned they didn't change the oil send it to Blackstone laboratories and have it tested. It would be a good baseline if you are planning on keeping your Bronco a long time.

Just got mine back form the dealer for some warranty work and had them change the oil and rotate the tires. Oil was within the hash marks, I’d be concerned if the oil level was above the top hole in the dipstick, that’s definitely overfilled if so.

I’ve always changed my oil in all my cars as did my dad….
Anyway, from new….my Bronco dip stick read well up into the twist…. Wondered why they overfilled the oil at the factory….?????
I changed the oil in my 2..7 at 1800 miles. With 6.4 qts in it was at max full mark….

At 6400 miles I went to my dealer to get it serviced and have this 7 quart issue explained….
The service tech explained when he changed my oil that he added 7 quarts…
That… having it measure well into the twist on the dip stick was normal.
But if ever was above the twist…that it is definitely overfilled….
(His words to my ears)

So drove home 2miles to my house… waited for the engine to get stone cold… checked my oil ( multiple times ….much to my shock!!! it was well above the twist.

I pulled the bash panel and started to drain some oil….

What I discovered totally set me back!!!
(the oil) was “BLACK” (WTF😡🤬).

with this, I drained out all of the Oil…. “Black”… Black!!!!!🤬😡🤬

photos self explanatory….new oil vs 2 mile oil from Ford dealership)
Feast your eyes on (what is supposed to be) 7 quarts of fresh oil!!!!!

I’m pissed…. I will never trust anyone but myself (FORD IF YOUR LISTENING)!!!!
I hate being scammed!!!!!!
Not all Ford Service Techs are honest!!!!!

update: Just checked the 100 pound torque on the lug nuts…. They WERE NOT 100ft lb torque spec …. Nor were they torqued evenly…
😡

The very few times I've had someone else change the oil on one of my vehicles, I check the level and clarity before leaving the location. I almost always change it myself.
Dealers hate electric vehicles because supposedly they won't make money on the maintenance but I think the hate is because they won't be able to pull stunts like these anymore.

The analysis is going to cost him more than the oil change and the battle will end with the dealer saying "oops, sorry... here's a free oil change". For mental sanity, he should walk away and never return to the dealership.

I’d rest and have a good nights sleep… right after I wrecked havoc on that dealership.

We are all wired differently though. The OP will figure it out.

I had my oil changed and tires rotated at Gurley Leep in South Bend. I marked the tires and checked the oil. No tires rotated, no oil changed. It pays to check before and after when dealing with any dealership.
Harley dealer did similar to my street glide a couple years back. They were to replace battery and some wiring along with fresh oil change, was the same bad cell battery when I got home after he jumped it in the shop. Will not return to them, found a reputable local mechanic for anything I need.

What would be the best possible outcome from the dealer to make you happy if you were in that situation?

Rest and a good nights sleep; you have no idea how much that alone makes my day.

I’d be shocked if the dealer, service manager or GM etc didn’t make things right. Plus I don’t know a service area that doesn’t have cameras all around it.
