Congrats! I already have 1,700 miles on mine. Still luv itFinally got down here and picked her up!
I’ll be putting about 1,400 on it getting her back to Utah over the next couple days, so I might catch up to you soon hahaCongrats! I already have 1,700 miles on mine. Still luv it
I've had mine since 6/1 and only have 231 miles on mine at the moment.damn, i've had mine a week and have only 350 miles on mine lol
I've been looking to pick up a pivot and I saw that you can get either a passenger or driver side swing. I've only seen pictures of the passenger side but I worry that the tailgate/spare will swing into my bike on the rack since the pivot doesn't open as far as the tailgate will. Do you see this as a problem? Would you still go with the passenger side swing if you were going to buy it again?Got the call yesterday and brought it home this afternoon! Tested the 4WD modes on some steep gravel backroads on the way home just to familiarize myself again with the controls. Once home I installed some 1 Up bike racks with Kuat Pivot swing arm (swings to passenger side before openings back gate). This is going to be a fun vehicle! Also- thanks to many of you here for some advice along the way. Most recently thanks to those who gave suggestions the last week for coming up with a plan for presenting price protection. The dealership already had the 22 to 22.5 price protection ready to go this time, but I was adamant that I was also due the 21 to 22 difference despite my changes made along the way. I gave them the PMG code for 21 to 22 and asked they enter it into their order system. It seemed they were curious but also trying to appease me, and look at that, the additional certificate was there! Full price protection.
I think the Kuat pivot opens 120 degrees so that doesn’t happenI've been looking to pick up a pivot and I saw that you can get either a passenger or driver side swing. It does open to 120 degrees but in @Sharks reply to you he mentions that his spare tire hits his rack even with the pivot all the way open.I think the Kuat pivot opens 120 degrees so that doesn’t happen
I couldn't find a driver's side Pivot at all when purchasing, and I wanted to get it asap. The spare can swing into a wheel of the closest bike (when on a 1 up rack), though you can further tilt the 1 up down so that the spare hits the 1 up instead of bike (this also allows the gate to open a bit more). I believe you can also special order a reverse connection for the 1 up that sits lower and interferes less with the spare tire. There's another thread with some photos of a driver's side Pivot and discussion 1 up. The driver's side Pivot seems functionally better, though it apparently partially blocks the license plate. If you're fine with the partial blocking of the license plate, then the driver's side swing may be better. I haven't found the passenger side swing to be a big deal. I haven't tried combining the Pivot with any other racks than the 1 up.I've been looking to pick up a pivot and I saw that you can get either a passenger or driver side swing. Maybe with the squatch tire spareIt does open to 120 degrees but in @Sharks reply to you he mentions that his spare tire hits his rack even with the pivot all the way open.
Ok, I finally located the Kuat driver side pivot at etrailer.com
I figured I'd have a bit less room with the larger sasquatch spare.
Plus if I ever get a cargo platform for it, I could possibly do a camp kitchen or something similar to use with the swing gate open. Kind of like this setup
