Installed: Kuat Pivot v2 Swing Away Extension Drivers side 2"

I already own the Kuat NV Base 2.0 2-Bike Hitch Rack. Just needed the swing away extension. After doing a little research I decided to go with Kuat Pivot v2 Swing Away Extension Drivers side 2". Just got it today and it works perfect. It is exactly what I needed. I have a 12 yr old Rottweiler and he uses a ramp to get in the back. When we travel and I take my MTB is is not fun to take it all apart to get him in and out. Problem solved. So far so good. I just got it and have only gone around the block. Seems like it is going to work great though. Kuat is very good quality, the fit and finish is nice. Can't wait to take it on a road trip. Maybe Black Bear Lake for the 4th.

Nice, I’m thinking about getting the Pivot today because the Kuat Hi Lo doesn’t let me open all the way with bike on. Does without and tilted down, but would like to open anytime. Question though, does your outer NV tray sit a little higher than your inner NV tray? Like the platform is offset a tiny bit. You can kinda see in the pic what I mean

I bought the Pax side one and turned it upside down so it works on the drivers side. My latch is taller than yours so it hit the tire. I have 3 dogs that use a ramp for that reason as well.

Where on earth did you find one? Dang, I have been looking for driver side and soonest anyone could promise was after July 4th, some not until October. I needed it for upcoming trip so bought a passenger side last night, expected delivery Tuesday

Not OP, but if you look at Sunshine Bike shop in Springfield, MO, or almost any of the big shops around Springfield, they will likely have them in stock, since Kuat is based there.

Get the swing away, it is a must. And get the drivers side. If you can afford it get it. It's a no brainer. It makes life so much easier. Now I can just load up the Bronco and go. Easy peasy! One less thing I have to deal with. As far as the tilt goes I never really noticed it too much with just the rack on. I visually checked the extension and did not notice anything bent. It does sit a little more down on one side. There is going to be a little play in every extension you add and that adds up. The majority of the weight sit's on the drivers side, so. And the bike rack is a few years old.

Ya it was not easy. Just started calling every shop on the net. Got the last one they had. Planning a trip to Big Bear for the 4th.

Is that hitch aftermarket or did you get the tow package on your Bronco? I left the tow package out due to constraints and plan on adding an aftermarket hitch. But that fitment looks so close to the tire and I hope to buy the same setup. I have a first gen kuat nv 2, I probably just need the swing out when I get my Bronco.

Get the swing away, it is a must. And get the drivers side. If you can afford it get it. It's a no brainer. It makes life so much easier. Now I can just load up the Bronco and go. Easy peasy! I have the same rack too and I love how there is no sway or wobble with the hitch system. Do you notice any additional travel or wiggle with the extender?

Ya I got the tow package. It fits perfect, like it was made the Bronco with the 35" tire. I am updating the post as far as why it does not sit level. You can read that. Basically the cam bolt that takes out the slack causes the extension to sit down a little farther on the drivers side. I think I can fix it with a shim.

Update: As far as why it does not sit level. I believe it is because when I tighten the cam bolt it is causing the extension to sit down a little further on the drivers side. I checked it for square and it was good. So when you tight the cam bolt and at the same time hold the extension level it literally bring the extension down about 3/16 down too far. I think a shim should fix it. Does anyone else have this problem or is mine messed up?

Does your extension sit level? Mine is off about 3/16 down on the drivers side.
