The broken rod toward the engine looks like it had downward pressure and is bent.... had to be in a bind at one point
you would think so but all I was on was the concrete. maybe I was turning and it got stuck? I have no idea

It's probably a quality control issue with some of these tie rods breaking like twigs. Least it happened in your driveway and not somewhere else.
exactly my thoughts! Good job bronco for breaking your tie rod in the driveway!!

I do all my trail assist turns in my driveway too. ;)

Just kidding, that sucks. I hope the tie rod issues are not large scale.

Glad you are okay and didn’t happen on the highway.

Maybe Ford will have the Hoss 3.0 as the default package now since this happened. I’m sure the news will break on this story.

I agree with an earlier post. The tie rod was subjected to earlier trauma. Anyone else drive this Bronco? Not fessing up to smacking a curb rather hard? Did they test drive it at the dealership or lift the vehicle for the recall work? The bend in the tie rod occurred before it snapped in your driveway. Fortunate it snapped then and not on the road.

Ok, how about the rest of the story?

It didn't break from the turn, it was stressed earlier.
yep I took a look at the earlier post that said it was bent and I took a look at it and it was for sure bent.

I’m being 100% truthful with my story which is why I’m so surprised. I did have the recalls so maybe they did something? I took it off roading in early June and nothing happened so do you think the tie rod bent from that and just happened to snap today?

thanks for your input though!

I feel like we should do something for the Ford engineer team that designed the steering components for the Bronco.
