For the Pak Rax we chose stainless due to the weathering and dirty mess that would be thrown at those bolts as it is on the side of the vehicle. Also since our Pak Rax is designed to be removable, removing black oxide bolts enough times, they eventually will turn silver and show the stainless steel through. Everything design-wise was thought through and chosen for a reason. If customers want the heads of the bolts black, we have told them to try spray painting them black.@TrailRax, I wonder if it's possible to replace bolts and nuts with the same size but in black? Is there a reason to use not black?
Thanks! Should the paint be satin? For the Pak Rax we chose stainless due to the weathering and dirty mess that would be thrown at those bolts as it is on the side of the vehicle. Whatever you want. Satin is the color we use for our powder coat. Thanks! Should the paint be satin?
It is all relative when it comes to this question. Most have told us that the wind noise feels decreased. While it may not actually decrease decibels, it sounds and feels less aggressive than no roof rack. The wind deflector is made to be at the perfect angle of the windshield and offers the best aerodynamics for a roof rack.@TrailRax does the rack system /decrease/ wind noise from a basic MIC top, or does it just not add to it? Do you have any data on that?
YepNice Rack, 2-door?
You know I was just thinking of TrailRax. I am still deciding whether I want to get them. I love them though!
Could you give some clarification on this? Have read the whole thread and can't find where a grinder is needed. Yes I have bought one.Well I don’t own a grinder to be able to fix there mistakes, so I’m out.
