(thought giving it some extra skinny pedal would compensate for the lack of grip from the tires)

What's going on Bronco peeps! Just wanted to share that the RTR rock sliders CAN take a beating. Btw, I'm not sponsored by them. These sliders cost an arm and a leg and I was worried that I was sold crap.

I was delightfully proven wrong.
I wasn't quite sure how these would hold up since they're pinch weld mounted and stuff.

Here they are getting exercised at the Soup Bowl on the Rubicon Trail.
*we didn't make it through due to our homie's steering arm on his Land Cruiser folded in half.

After a good hour in the Soup Bowl, I called it quits and opted for a winch. It took two trucks to winch me up this obstacle. This is where my rear bumper and passenger rear shock mount got wrecked!

Looks fun, I am impressed you even tried that line. Was that air coming out of you passenger tire when you hit that rock. I am heading up Sunday to run the trail with a few other broncos.

Damn you hit those sliders HARD! Glad to know they hold up.

Any concerns about the trailing arm mounts though?

Damn dude! I only made it over that one once in my EB and that was with a lot of help from spotters. Impressive that you gave it a go in your new one! I've seen a lot of damage there. Looks like the sliders did very well!

Had to blink and make sure I was seeing correctly. RAYS looks good on everything :ROFLMAO:

I was worried about how wheels from Japan would look like on the Bronco (Was thinking of getting RPTs to match my miata), as all "off-road" brand wheels look tacky and terrible to me, minus a few. Glad to see maybe i won't be disappointed.

Wow. That was hard to watch.
Sounds like the driver's side light pods took a crunch, sliders took some rash, and apparently passenger side shock skid.
Which brand shock protection are you running? Pics of the carnage there?

Tbh, I had no idea what line to take. I thought the guy who was spotting me knew what he was doing lol

Some air came out of the passenger and driver tire when I hit the rock, but surprisingly the tire didn't debead. Even weirder, the tire some how reinflated itself. I can't explain that.

It's very cold, so pack warmly. Trail was nice and dry with light patches of snow. Moon dust is everywhere still. Good thing is the dirt is a little packed due to the snow melt.

Damn you hit those sliders HARD! Glad to know they hold up.

Any concerns about the trailing arm mounts though?
I'm glad they held up too. Going into the Rubi I said that I wasn't going to be careful on purpose for the sake of testing out the durability of the parts.

As for the trailing arms go, I'm only a tiny bit concerned for the lower link. For how beefy they are in comparison to the the 4runner's and FJ's I'm surprised my passenger one slightly bent.

The real area of concern are the mounts. All of the link mounts can use reinforcement. But I don't think that bolt is a complete solution if you harder rock crawling

That was the crazy man line. Never doing that again!
Here were my notes on why I didn't get up:
1) Driver mod lol
2) better spotting
3) better tires
4) better line

The truck did take a lot of damage which I wrote separate posts for which is somewhere in this thread. For seam/ pinch weld mounted sliders, I am IMPRESSED!
