Anyone know why there are so many Outerbanks becoming available for sale at dealerships? Here in Wichita Kansas 2 dealerships are getting 25-35 Outerbanks 4 drs and a few Black Diamonds and selling them at MSRP

My assumption is following, OBX is highest non SAS trim
WT is SAS by default, and BL hard core version many/most opt with SAS
And if number of SAS they can build is limited, highest they can go is OBX non SAS
Now, this theory is worthless if most of OBX you see on those parking lots are optioned with SAS :)

Did you happen to notice if any had rear lockers? If your buying it makes the difference of 3.73 gears(non locker) to 4.27 gears with the locker. Sounds about like sticker price that’s shocking and good to see if they aren’t marking them up at the time of sale.

I just looked and saw a lot of “not is stock, in transit“ OBX at one dealership. Eck Ford, is that one of them?

I ordered Outerbanks SAS in mid October, one week later got build date of Dec 5. Do they manufacture in groups? Also seems like way more eruption green lately and I got that too.

They must build them in groups, would make sense, I’m guessing the Outerbanks may be one the least popular 🤷🏼 but to me they are a great deal especially with the mid package and locking rears

I think Ford assumed OBX would target the more interior and exterior luxury, non-off-road buyers. But when they removed some of the options that made Wildtrak unique, many of us realized an optioned up OBX with SAS (add modular bumper, 2.7L, high or lux package, aux switches basically) gave us a luxury Wildtrak with side step, paint matched mirrors and handles, and better seat and interior options, minus a stupid Wildtrak sticker. I switched from WT to OBX to do this and know tons of others who did as well. I bet it left them with a ton of mall princess builds, which are 2.3 soft tops with mid package.
