Ford Bronco 780 hp NA from 7.3L Godzilla Annotation 2020-09-10 170630

In Wolfe's most recent test, he was able to push the naturally aspirated pushrod engine over 780 horsepower. ... Truthfully, it's set up to run a 3.0-liter Whipple, but Wolfe wanted to warm the engine up beforehand so he could deconstruct it and analyze how it performed. As such, it's got a billet intake as well as a 90-millimeter throttle body mounted on top. There's also a good deal of head work; think CNC ported with titanium valves. Still, they're the stock Ford castings, so that's got to be good for something.

Wolfe also notes that it's running the stock block, stock timing chain and stock oil pump. All of these factory parts have supposedly been strong enough to withstand the mountainous pulls they've performed on the dyno with some tests even reaching 7,600 rpm. ... currently running on VP Racing Fuel's C16 blend. ... an upgraded Westcott mechanical roller cam, Wiseco pistons and MGP aluminum connecting rods, it's enough to knock on the door of 800 hp. According to Wolfe, there's "no doubt" it could make over 900 hp in top naturally aspirated form.

Honestly this is the most badarse engine Ford has made in my lifetime, that’s another check mark on the 250 Tremor for me. I can’t believe they’re only putting this work of art into 1 vehicle series. Furthermore I’m in awe at how good on gas this engine has done. It’s just an all around win for Ford.

I can definitely see myself daily driving something with this engine in it.

Not bad? Yeah I'd take one.... and just to piss everyone else off, you know where you can shove your little turbos too!! ? All this talk about how this turbo outperforms that V8 engine... blah blah blah... Give us some good old American Horsepower!!

Ok I'm done now, carry on.
Haha no worries here. I love big 'ol V8s but I don't get myself all worked up over something I can't change. (Doesn't hurt that I love revvy little motors and turbo noise and stupid diesels, too).

I wonder if I can fit this motor in the Pajero. I know a 1UZ will fit, and that's DOHC ...

AAAHHHHH music to my ears BAAAWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks @frinesi2 Made my night buddy I had not seen this one yet.

I've been surfing the salvage, pass the time waiting for B&P, just to see if I can find a wrecked super duty but most are diesel.
Glad you enjoyed it haha.

Yeah I'd imagine these motors will be rare as hens teeth for a couple more years.

I have a strong feeling there will be a crate motor with full electronics and I'm sure development was slowed by the 'rona. I have plenty of time to wait.

Godzilla Bronco.....Hennessey, get to work !!!

+++++

Ford engineers claim the 7.3 will fit in a Ranger.

Some who is no longer here, has stated the is plenty of room in the Bronco for it. It looks like there is not much inner fender, to me, to get in the way. Big thing is where the oil pan sump falls in relation to the cross member. 10 SPD will bolt up to it. Hardest part to me is merging the engine ECM to the drivetrain ECM.
