I'm a fan of Dodge trucks and the Cummins engines. It'd be pretty cool (I'm sure someone will do it) to put a Cummins in a new Bronco (Brummins? Cronco?).

Any of you extra mechanically savvy people on here know if the Cummins 2.8 crate engine would be a nightmare to swap in? https://www.cummins.com/engines/repower?v=1591

Of course with that little 2.8 you're gonna cut your horsepower almost in half vs the 2.7 ecoboost and you're gonna go down in torque by 100 lbs but to have that Cummins emblem on the side and that classic Cummins sound would be amazing.

How'd it be to put a 12 valve in? or a 5.9 24 valve? impossible?

Nothing is impossible with enough money and time.

just pull a couple plug wires to make it run rough and add oil to the intercooler jk :censored: dont think you would be happy with the handling of this vehicle if a heavy diesel was installed.

Yeah I could see the weight being a problem. Although, that 2.8R Cummins is 500lbs and the 2.7 is 440lbs. Not too drastic. The 12 valve and 24 valve however are 1000+lbs so those are out haha

If you really want a diesel, it needs an om603 or om606 mercedes. Still inline 6 mechanical diesels, but a lot more suited to the Bronco and its engine bay

Interesting  can I still put the Cummins emblem on the side? no one needs to know

The motor you want to put in if diesel is your cup of tea is the 3.0L Audi/VW V6. I have two; 2016 Q5 and 2015 A6. It is a smooth powerplant. I drove both the 3.0L Gas and 3.0 Diesel and the diesel was so much better. 245 HP and 428lbs of torque. Ram sources the 3.0L motor EcoDiesel from VW for their trucks and wouldn't be a bit surprised is it goes into the Jeep.
