Ford Bronco Does the 2.7L Ecoboost require premium gas? gas.PNG

*edit: I re-read your post and if its more of an asking an opinion, I would stick with factor recommendation unless you go with an aftermarket tune that is for a specific fuel.

Speaking of fuel, do we think the tank will be capless? My 2009 F-150 is capless. Did they keep this?
my 2015 mustang is and the company 2017 f150 truck is so I would say yes.

Yes, there is a pic with three little broncos horsing around above the capless fuel. It's an easter egg.

I would say that despite the relatively high compression ratio, that something with their direct injection they prevent pre-detonation that the premium fuel is required for.

I have the 2.7l turbo in my MKX and run regular. It puts your head back in the head rest in sport so never a need for premium fuel.

I run Mid(89 octane) in my 3.5 EB, serves me well...but I don't run anything less in any motor I have. Can't justify going to premium (93).
I also have a tune for 89, but I was running it before the tune.

Question for those in the know about this kind of stuff... even if premium grade fuel is not required on the 2.7L engine, does the engine perform any better with higher grade fuel than it does with standard?

The 2.7L in my F150 neither requires nor suggests premium. As far as I know, I own 4 Fords 2012+, all Fords now are capless.

NICE. I never even bothered looking it up since i assumed almost with certainty the 2.7 would be mid-grade and above.

Does anyone know if the Ford performance tune on the Ranger requires 93 octan? I’m hoping that tune is available around launch for the Bronco.
