Hold off? No, but it's just a matter of time.

I'd love to see it offered at launch as an option but I'm not waiting to see what is offered.

What I may end up doing is getting a second one for my wife in 2022 so we at least have one electric vehicle for near home use.

Our plan is somewhat similar. We do definitely want to move to electric for a second car but we will do that with an on-pavement sedan or crossover SUV. For off-road use the gas Bronco is fine. I don't feel the need to try and squeeze both into a single compromise vehicle.

All the more reason to buy it now! Nothing against electric cars, but they aren't practical at all in my neck of the woods...

It took California this long? Wow BC committed to 2040 two years ago. https://vancouversun.com/news/local...sion-by-2040-under-b-c-s-electrification-plan

Also if you think there will be an electric Bronco for 2022MY you may want to peruse some of the other sections of this forum. There's a good chance that some of the reservations from launch will spill over into 2022. I can't see them getting an electric, or even hybrid, version if this thing figured out that soon - they can't even get B&P live!

I'm sorry. I'm known for driving 600 to 700 miles in a day. I'm all for internal combustion engines.
If battery technology gets to where you can cannonball, would you switch then?

The Bronco isn't going to be electric that soon. The F150 is the canary in the coal mine to see how well you can off road in an electric. It'll take time to process the data and make design changes for the Bronco...so you're probably looking at another 5 years.

Electric definitely feels like the future. But we're still 10-15 years out. A California mandate (that is likely to get overturned before its even in place) isn't going to have an affect on the rest of the country.

Also I remember reading somewhere, maybe popular mechanics, that our grid infrastructure can't handle everyone with an electric car. But this was a few years ago. Then again, government municipality spending has never been known for wise investments.
