On the Ford Bronco website, i saw today that the Bronco boasted best in class power for the 2.3 and 2.7 liter engines with an asterisk that denoted premium fuel required. Im pretty sure i saw that regular fuel was recommended but what power loss will we see if we dont use premium?

I always stick with 93 (or in my trucks case, 89) with my turbo's

Assuming you won't mod it, you'll see a slight loss in power and economy, though the mpg will be negated by the $$ saved xD

Think it's just recommended since it'll pull timing and power to compensate for the 87

Same as my '11 Stang. I always used premium.

I'm not gonna sweat an extra $50-60 at the end of the year.

On the stang I think you lost 10 hp and 15 ft-lbs on 87
My buddy has a '17 V6 Stang, saw the 300* was on 87, so guessing it's the same difference

He's FINALLY getting the damn thing tuned with a CAI+GT TB, only thing is he's cheap and wants to get an 87 tune >.>

Pretty common on a lot of turbo engines to have slightly better numbers on premium vs regular. I normally run 89 and then every few tanks put 93 in

I use ethanol free - premium. Lot's of fuel pumps have gone out in our city over the last 10+ years.

Where do you get ethanol free premium? None in Laredo.
At Rudy's BBQ and they have all grades ethanol free and Murphy's Express has regular that is ethanol free.

This was something i was wondering too.

So are the published power numbers:
270/310 for the 4cyl

these on premium, or on regular; cause they say run regular.

And if we do run regular would we lose hp/tq how much?

Or was that a stupid question as there is an asterisk notation.

??

Cool. Our Rudy's had to get rid of the pumps due to zero sales, and our Murphy's aren't ethanol free. The MPG went way down on my G8 GXP and GTO when they swapped to ethanol. I used to see the effect years ago when driving towards Kansas -- 27 MPG, then whomp 21 mpg on IH-35. Used to be that ethanol additive started around Waco and nothing south. Now it is everywhere.

We have much better BBQ in Corpus than Rudy's. Rudys is more like the fast food of BBQ here. But I'm not judging...it's where you live on what choices you have.
