I’m like 90% decided on 2.3 manual because I’ve always liked manual cars slow and fast. They are just more fun and the Bronco is supposed to be a fun 4x4. For those posting here who simply don’t drive manual, it’s a no brainer....2.7 all day. For those who just want use their right foot, 2.7 auto. No brainer.

I also modify my forced induction cars so that’s good for the 2.3 but even better on the 2.7. My worry with the 2.7 auto is boredom. The Bronco will be a mass produced very common 4x4 and driving auto may get old like I’m just driving an explorer with a removable top. The manual will make it a bit more special.

my wife’s uncle taught her to drive manual on an old CJ out in Colorado years ago and he said auto is just a car, manual makes it a “vehicle” . Save the manuals! Lol
not gonna happen if you take the time to shift, you have 10 gears to choose from and you can hold it in any of those gears as long as you like. Trouble is the cpu will learn your preferences and begin doing it for you but you can fool it and start a new pattern......

so is it 5k + the price of trans
price isn’t confirmed but yes you have to pay extra for Sasquatch and Auto 2.7 unless you get a higher trim that comes standard which of course you’re paying for it anyway.

It is a risk. Hopefully Ford learned their lesson. A little more QC and design oversight this time around? It’s not simply because they’re made in China that they had issues. Lots of Chinese parts on Fords and all of our cars.

AFAIK the Sasquatch package is ~$5000 and 2.7/Auto combo is ~$3500. You can also get the Auto with the 2.3 for I believe ~$1600. All prices based on the survey email.

I'm currently on the fence with Base Sasquatch with 2.7 and Auto or Big Bend with 2.7 and Auto and 4.27 E-locker.

you forgot to add they are both very similiar in design except the auto is wet computer controlled and the manual is driver controled. However, the new select shift autos give the driver the ability to select any gear manually the only thing missing is a clutch pedal and the computer can handle that much more eficiently than you can. Some autos even use a series of dry clutches like on the focus. Their really isnt much difference ecept the auto has modern controls but the manual has old fashioned human control. I own a jeep rene TH with a 2.4 and it is a pig untill you use the select shift to hold it in the proper gear so the engine can rev up for power and they its a beast.
So you are saying that on the 10spd they add a whole bunch of extra controls to try to mimic what I just do naturally. Sounds like something I dont really want to bury in a mud hole. These already have alot of electronics doing alot of important things, and alot of nonsense aswell. But to take the load off of my Bronco I will do the shifting so its computer has less to worry about. Im also very curious what about the computer shifting is so much more efficient. Will I get 5mpg more or will the added efficiency mostly just make up added weight and the power required to turn that pump? What happens when I'm doing burnouts in the auto will the computer light up and threaten to cut the power if I dont shift. Honestly though I have never cared for anything that makes driving any easier. I find that taming the beast is much more enjoyable even for boring commutes, it brings life to the day, to the drive. Why do people offroad in 4x4s, they can get to many more places just hiking? Why ride a motorcycle when a sedan is easier? Why do people build races cars? There is more to life than easy street.

I was just checking weights, and the bronco is pretty heavy compared to a wrangler. A two door rubicon wrangler is 4,160lbs and the four door is 4,449lbs. The bronco badlands looks to be close to 5,000lbs for the four cylinder model.

No, I've had a 2002 Mustang GT (3400lb), 2003 Cobra Mustang (3650lb), 2010 F150 (5980lb), 2012 Focus (3200lb?), 2013 Ford Explorer (5xxxlb), and 2015 Ford Mustang (3800lb). The 2002 and 2003 Mustangs and 2010 F150 were all super reliable. The rest have had more issues than I wanted to deal with.

Why did you have to remind me that the S550 weighs 200 LBS more than it needs to...
