What are your must have DIOs and why?
Or, what do you hope to see realistically available?

Here is mine:

- 2.3 turbo tune available as an option.
- a light bar and have it tied into the auxiliary switch but I do not want the roof rack so it would have to be a light bar with a mount that is not dependent on the roof rack. Or maybe 2 smaller LEDs lights near the pillars.
- additional suspension lift (2+ inches on top of the Sasquatch lift)

I am thinking fog lights of some sort. Down low (of course). While I like the idea of the cowl lights, I have no real NEED for them. The only way I could remotely justify them (and legally they could never be used) is to hook them up as aux driving lights when one of the Aux switches is also turned on. The fogs would also need to be that way though. Other than that...not sure what else I would put on those NECESSARY aux switches.

Thats a good question too. What plans do people people have for the "necessary" auxiliary switches. I forgot about fog lights. I'm bummed the Black Diamond doesn't have LED fog lights.

I'm of the opinion that anything offered as a DIO will have more options that are just as good of quality for less money if one is willing to wait a bit for the aftermarket.

Free install and you can add them to your car note, though. And you won't have to wait two years.

I don't really trust dealership lot boys to slap it on though, free or not.

Plus the initial markup from Ford kind-of negates the free install.

Really would rather choose my own accessories for myself instead of what Ford thinks I want.

For example, in my experience Rigid lights are steaming piles of poo. No way I'll be putting them on my rig.

If I need to finance lights for 5 years do I really need them?

If I go 4-door soft top:

  • That cargo area cover from the Overland Bronco
  • 2.3L Tune
  • 2in lift with 37" KM3s (doubtful availability)
If I stay 2-door:
  • ANY SOFT TOP OR BIMINI OPTION!!!!
  • 2.3L Tune
  • 2in lift with 37" KM3s (doubtful availability)

Bought a pair of their pods. 1 of the originals and 2 replacements died within 3 months. They covered them, but it was a PITA. Sold them second hand real quick and replaced with Baja Designs that have over a year and a half of constant (day and night) use with zero issues.

I think I want that sliding tailgate but it's apparently late availability. I hope something like that won't put the build on hold.

The locking cargo cover is pretty cool too but with the tailgate it might be a tight squeeze in there. So that might be an either/or situation.

Maybe a tailgate table.

Definitely the picatinny rail.

  1. Rear security shelf
  2. Rear fold down table
  3. Winch mount (and possibly winch)
  4. Cowl lights
  5. Something for fog lights (hopefully the fog light switch is intact when you get the modular bumper)
  6. Cargo rack
  7. Limb risers
  8. Rear slide out table
