Removable Doors legal or not?

So, I'm a "used to be" Jeep Wrangler owner. I loved to remove the doors on my 2dr but it is not actually legal here. I wonder how many states and provinces it is legal or illegal to remove them?

I live in Michigan and I regularly visit close family in Ontario, so looked this issue up a few weeks ago. I assumed Ontario might have an issue with no doors, but it’s fine. Mirrors are the issue. So with Jeeps you have to fashion a side mirror. Since Bronco’s side mirrors aren't mounted on the doors, it won’t be an issue for me to go doorless in Ontario. Not sure about elsewhere.

I had added an aftermarket side mirror but the rule here is if it came with doors it has to have them. The old CJ's are except as you could order them without doors.

Maybe the tube doors would be ok since they are crash test rated.

No problems in NJ, I only have one mirror and haven't had any issues.

PA is a whole different story, technically illegal. Tons of guys from PA on the Wrangler forum, it's been hit or miss depending on where you are if you get a ticket or not. They've been fighting this for a while trying to get something passed.

Nothing makes sense in these two states, impossible to get a carry permit in NJ, PA no problem. No helmets required in PA, need one in NJ. Doors off in NJ, no problem, PA it's a no no.

Don't have to wear a helmet on a motorcycle, but have to have doors on a car? That makes sense.
