Since we are waiting for 2022 on the Bronco and white roof, we will strongly consider this Wrangler and will look at it and the Bronco at same time. I figure 60k for one, which is maybe 5-7k more than the Bronco we built.
That 392 is a gem with plenty of power and torque. We have the 5.7 in our Grand Cherokee and itā€™s been rock solid. Iā€™ve also had some Challengers with 5.7 and 6.1 Hemis and driven them with 392. 392 all day over the others. this should be cool in a straight line...

The article mentions cost of the 392 should come under 50k, I have a hard time believing that. I would imagine more like 60k.
Motor Trend estimates it will start at 67k. The 392 comes with extra options standards such as premium audio, hard top, color matched flares, LED lighting, cold weather group, etc...

a shame they went with the 392 SRT instead of the truck version. The 6.4 truck would run on 89 Octane (a considerable savings over premium and the ability to get fuel anywhere as 91/93 is not always readily available in the upper Southwest, adding to range anxiety). Also had a perfectly good manual truck transmission (6-speed) that fit it. 430 lb-ft (peak 200 RPM lower than the SRT version) and 410 horsepower with a manual option would pull a lot of manual only guys from the Bronco.

edit below; was based on the article stating $50K pricing, if $67K to start, well, not so much poaching of manual guys... F-150 Raptor sales though...

Itā€™ll be more than $50k. The ecodiesel is a $4500 option and with that diesel and specs the same as this 392 rubicon comes in at $63k.

Anyone who thinks performance and sound environmental practice are mutually exclusive needs to take a spin in my Tesla. I know it doesnā€™t make V8 noises, but Randy Pobst lapped one faster than a Ferrari 458 Italia at the Streets of Willow. Also, I actually really like the sound of the electric motors. It sounds like a freaking Tie Fighter from Star Wars when you stomp on it.

Edit: My point is that I have every confidence that the 3.5 eco boost (or even 3.0) will easily whip the 392 in performance and fuel economy.

Edit edit: But the 392 will sound cooler.

I just priced out a V6 gas Rubi at $57k modestly equipped. The V8 Rubi will easily top $70k+.

Ford needs to release the Warthog for 2021. We canā€™t let the 392 release with no answers from the Bronco.

Ford Bronco Warthog vs Rubicon 392 ( Car and Driver) D186ACEB-B2BB-48FC-8338-92BE105A293B
I think they will answer after they observe all the things ppl don't like so they can answer back with something better. Just like they did with the bronco we are getting. I really think the Windsor and the mustang be the point where they decide and V8. We all know they will never suff a 5.0. Also now the EPA restrictions be interesting. Wasn't EPA reason why the hellcat cherokee was scrapped. I thought I read something on that a while back. 2021 was the last year for them?

Forget the V8, only loss is the sound. The 3.5 in a F150 can make close to 800hp with a tune and some engine mods and the 2.7 around 680hp. That'll be plenty for the Bronco.

Ford GT 660 HP 3.5 Ecoboost but Fords not gonna do that. They should at least tune it to 450 with more torque than the 392 Wranglers.

I canā€™t believe this Jeep is going to come out before we even get our early reservation Broncos. And itā€™s going to have over 150 more HP than the 2.7. Another Ford fail.
