I noticed that too -- I want to cover the seams on my OBX but without losing the running boards.

We'll have to wait for aftermarket nonfunctional rock rails designed to work with the running boards. I'm afraid if I order the OEM ones (with intent to modify), the car will arrive without running boards.
Yes I was able to do that too, which kind of led me to this question.
The b&p has got us all messed up. I was only getting both running boards and rock rails to cover those gaping holes on my wildtrak. But some ppl on this thread are saying its one or the other. I know not to consider the b&p my Bronco Bible by now. Hope with Bronco specialists and the order guide they have, we get clarity

The thing is... we don't know. They might've designed them to be able to work together, which would be innovative and pretty damn cool.

If the rock rails cover up those seams under the doors and you can do factory step bumpers that might actually look better too......I just saw those great WildTrak Area 51 shots and one of the first things I will want to do is cover up those seams. I have the same seams on 2001 F250 and they are a big rust problem area on that truck. I wonder if anyone has any suggestions on how to protect that area?

Wouldn't hold your breath. Right from B&P...
Not Available on vehicles equipped with running boards.

Keep that area clean and also shoot it with a few layers of clear coat (to make sure any uncovered metal is protected).

My wife expects to have the boards and I prefer the rock rails. Since wives are never wrong and always get what they want, I will install the board on her passenger side and the rock rail on the driver side. All rock crawling will be on the left side, problem solved.

I plan to sell the OEM Badlands rails and get the AMP powerstep (as soon as it is available).

I have kids and my wife is 5'2" so a step will be very good for them. I prefer the look of the powerstep over tubular steps and other similar steps.
