I just don't get the steel wheel fascination. I can't see spending 40-50k on a vehicle to get wheels you can buy from JC Whitney for less than 90.00 each. I guess its so when you hi and rock climb, you don't mess up the nicer wheels???? Looks like a under cover cop car to me.

You can spend over $100k and get a vehicle with steelies. And it's perfect

The old Defender is Exactly why I love the Steel Wheels on the Base and Black Diamond. Such a great looking truck. I just think I want to paint mine white or the silver argent color. I am going to see how they look in person when I get the truck though. I think maybe the black will look good paired with Rapid Red.

I respect that. In 5 years, will it still be interesting? Or boring?
I see no reason why I wouldn't still like it.

I know flat colours like this seem to be "on trend" these days but that doesn't mean that I'll stop liking it just because they fall out of favour with the general population.

Personally, I'm very happy with how it looks. This is exactly what I've been planning to go with, so I'm glad to see pics of it in real life. I'll just add the roof rails and be good to go :)

Same. Except I'll add a couple of doors as well.

And those steelies will be on winter tire duty. Just need to figure out what wheels will go with a CG BD for the summer.

If mine doesn’t come black with the shadow black mod top, I’ll remove it and paint it gloss black.
I will remove the silver one, order and install a black one. Other than a Gray or Black vehicle....IMO silver was a bad choice.

I don't have too many styling complaints, and I hate to point it out if you haven't noticed, but that back-up camera really does stick out pretty far. Looks a little goofy.

I'll be looking into making a spacer or something to bump the wheel out a bit so my BD doesn't have a wheel boner.
Just the result of the steelies being much thinner than other stock wheels. Also gives you an excuse to buy bigger tires :ROFLMAO:

Condo........ Go.......... wait, not allowed to call this color by its colloquial name.

CG and A51 are ultra modern styles of paint.

Flat
Lifeless
Zero depth
Minimal reflection
Artificially glossy clear to pretend it isn't bland

The mental attention needed is that it's a cheap surface coating and looks low rent. However, it's incredibly popular right now and "dates" any vehicle with that style of paint to a narrow point in time.

I was all on board with CG until its production spec turned out to be this "late 2020's" featureless landscape.

Also, I'm not alone in this viewpoint, but definitely outnumbered. This paint follows the trend here in America where any sort of artistic expression must be devolved back to two colors, zero depth or style so that the average person isn't offended by it. (As if iconic silver, a darker silver, two black paints and white weren't bad enough).

An example of taking style backwards to boredom:

And another with A51 and CG.

The exact reason I like it. The Bronco, as a vehicle, pops. I don't need, or want, a flashy colour on it. I like it because it's understated but, also, interesting.

Yes, that's why I like the Steel Wheels and the Color. I think the Bronco will attract enough attention. I don't need more when I have the roof off. As others have said the Utilitarian Look.
I am not a poser.

I am hoping to run one set of tires the whole year. If I find a good set of All Terrain tires with the 4 Wheel Drive is not adequate in the snow, I will have a nice set of rims for snow tires.

I've said this a ton of times on this forum. Need for snow tires is regional. If I was in Vancouver, or southern BC, I would run one set too. It's not necessarily the snow I buy them for. It's the ice. When I did live in Vancouver and in Halifax I just ran ATs.

AT's can be fine in fresh snow, slush, ect. Currently my road is polished like a curling rink. Unbelievably slippery. For miles. They don't plow the snow. It just gets packed down by traffic. Turns into glacier ice. That ice is there all winter long. My truck with ATs can barely get moving, keep in a straight line, or stop. My Escape, even with shitty Chinese winter tires, was a dream comparatively.

I'm firmly in "two set" camp here on the prairies.

Plus I can change up my look twice a year and it won't look like I'm running winter tires on spares all summer.

Has it been confirmed the width of the steelies is smaller than other stock wheels?
