That BD looks like a nice build. I could do without the blue grab handles as well.

This is awesome. What is the backseat footwell like in the 2D? How deep/approx length and width? I’ll be deleting my rear seats and either building or buying a plate system and I’m curious to see if we’ll be able to build in a storage hatch on the plate where the rear footwell is like on 4D Wranglers.
I'll try to get some measurements of the backseat footwell tomorrow.

So I have been trying to get this set up for awhile, but today the stars finally aligned. A buddy of mine was able to bring by one of the pre-production (This point is key for later) 2021 Black Diamonds by with the base package, upgraded wheels and tires (32s), and with the roof rails. We met at a nearby park and parked it next to my 1996 Eddie Bauer with it's 31s. We parked near the drain, so that's the reason they both seem to "lean".

Here are your comparison pictures:

Thanks for the comparisons. As mid 90’s full-size trucks are closer in size to today’s mid size trucks, I informally compared the 4 Door Bronco to a K5 Blazer/6 Gen Bronco and they have similar dimensions. The GM/Ford models from the past weighed in at just under 4,600 lbs and have similar interior dimensions and capacities of the Bronco 4 Door.

Yeah. I WAS going to get the four door as it was specced to be closer to the 96 in size, I just don't like the look of the four door.

And while I obviously see it saying 173.7, it sure didn't look like 173.7 when we laid the tape on the ground next to it. With it being on the ground there could have been several irregularities though. I'll get it held bumper to bumper next time.

I'll measure it again tomorrow with the tape bumper to bumper.
Not trying to bust your chops. Just don’t want people freaking out that’s it’s 30” shorter than it is.

Oh no, I get you. For sure. To be fair the 96 also can up 20 shorter, so it was probably how we laid it on the ground. We'll figure it out tomorrow, and get some more pictures.

Thanks for the pics and time spent on this.

The interior width for the front two seats is not bad...especially considering the 90's full size had a huge center console. I remember tossing college class books in mine at times and it was like a hotdog in a hallway.

Since it’s basically the same length as my Escape, I called it as I saw it! Thanks again for taking the time to take all the pictures you did. Seeing them through members pictures way better than the B&P! By the way, how does the CO look in person to you?

Awesome pics, you the man! I was surprised at how close the measurements were, except maybe for the length. I thought the Gen6 would be way smaller than those models.

I kind of reference this at times.

I did not get to drive it, I rode in the passenger seat. We drove out to a different park, about 40 minutes one way. Manual was fine, he was in sport mode. He said it still had decent power even in 6th on the freeway.
That makes my decision to go auto and 2.7 even easier. I don’t just want decent power in 6 to gear. Even though I really want the manual I just can’t sacrifice power to get it.

Interesting comparison, obviously the Eddie is generally larger but does that interior measurement indicate the 6G model has more backseat space......the distance from the rear back seat to the rear of the front seat?

Or were the seats in different positions?
It's more from seat back to seat back...But look at the measurement on the actual seat. The 96 seat is a LOT shallower than the 21's.
