So July 4th weekend it is! America - Bronco - Apple Pie and some fireworks for good measure. My guess to the delay is that it wasn't decided until recently to do a virtual reveal. I'm sure they really wanted and in-person event and looked into social distancing guidelines as well as how many journalists they thought would actually show up. They probably finally figured it's just too much of an unknown and to do a virtual event. Because of the late decision on a virtual event, they need some additional time to actually figure out how they want to do it and do the proper video work to get it to where they want. If it isn't July 4th weekend, they got delayed by final sign off.

I’m happy that there’s something to look forward to in the near future.

My only hope is that the team who is responsible for filming and running The Bronco Nation content isn’t behind the launch.

The whole situation is just a giant cluster fuck that Ford didn't intend...this time next year there will be product to buy and it won't be affected one bit by whats going on now...for the most part.
Well we'll see about the economy and jobs situation going forward. People without jobs or lesser income might be less likely to buy a 40k vehicle even by next summer, which could be hard on Ford. So yeah it's an unfortunate turn of events for Ford introducing this vehicle.

Also I think overall, dialing back society rules and regulations, once implemented might not be so easy. We kind of opened the pandoras box, of having a risk averse lifestyle enforced on the population. It's one thing for risk averse persons to freely choose to live in a risk averse way. But now the rest of us are expected to live that lifestyle. Which is unacceptable.

I think soon I will go for a run on the Chicago lakefront, and if the authorities want to arrest me for that, given all the mass gatherings, destruction and looting going on around the city, then more power to them. The whole COVID thing has jumped the shark.

To top it off, our campground reservation in Rocky Mountain National Park was cancelled - for August. Really, because there is legit COVID risk camping?! Shark/jump.

The target market for the Bronco is one that weathers recessions well. As messed up as it is recessions affect the poor and lower middle class WAY more than middle-upper middle class. Bronco is targeted towards the latter and will do just fine.

Ecosport on the other hand...

Ford can't win here. They wanted to reveal it in March to the media right when the Covid-19 shutdown happened. I'm sure we all felt like it was going to happen soon - like in the last couple of weeks, but the US news is dominated with civil unrest.

This unveiling needs to go perfectly for Ford so I think it was a good move to schedule it out far enough so it can get the media attention it deserves. Unveiling it in these times surely means it'll get swept under the rug fairly quickly IMO.

I agree the unveiling needs to go without a single bad memory.

Even more importantly though, is the vehicle itself actually needs to be simultaneously awesome, inexpensive, and definitely not plagued by quality issues.

Looking forward to getting one on the road so I can see for myself.

Note the graphic says the "Bronco brand reveal". Not specifically the actual real life in the flesh Bronco Bronco vehicle (or whatever they are calling it).
I may be blind, but I don't see anywhere that it says Bronco Brand reveal on Ford's site or the email to dealers.

The networks covering the protests and riots were never going to be covering a vehicle launch anyway. The audience is the automotive media and enthusiast sites which most certainly would be watching. The Bronco launch was never going to be on the NBC Nightly News. If Ford is waiting for that to happen, we will never see the thing.
BMW, Lexus and many other car makers continue to debut new and very important products yet Ford can't seem to figure out how to do it until everything is perfect??
While I'm frustrated and exasperated with Ford on this, I'm certainly keeping it in perspective and realize, at the end of the day, this a just a car, and not life and death.
That being said, it all just seems poorly managed by Ford and their marketing folks and has, at least for me, significantly dampened my enthusiasm for the product.
I just don't get the "significantly dampened enthusiasm for the product." We always knew it was going to be 2020, and crazy events have transpired. We now have to wait another few weeks........on a vehicle you won't get to see in person or have in your driveway for at least another 6 months to a year whether they revealed it a month ago or tomorrow or July. And a reveal pushed back a couple of weeks due to extraordinary circumstances makes you less enthusiastic about the vehicle? To each their own, but I don't understand it.

Yeah, that whole show season was a disaster. They could have easily shown the refreshed 2018 F-150 and refreshed 2018 Mustang or the all new 2018 Expedition at that show, and not mentioned Bronco for another year or two.

Instead, they showed the F-150 the day before - online I might add - and then trotted it out for 2 minutes at the actual show, and then gave us the "RANGER COMING 2019......BRONCO COMING 2020 with no images to show, just powerpoint slides". Then Mustang and Expy seemed destined to be shown at I think it was Chicago or New York, but no - they showed Expy at its own event at Cowboys stadium with a massive video board that anyone watching on video could hardly see because of the sun. And Mustang was shown AFTER the show debuts happened, and just thrown on the show floor.

I don't think many, certainly few of us on here, would call this "a good move". This is just developing into a clusterF for Ford. I say this as an owner of both an F-150 and Ford stock!
It's not ideal, but the alternative they're trying to avoid is having some big event, and then it coming out that a bunch of people that attended the event got Covid because of it.

I really don't see it being virtual as a big problem. We won't get the reviewer walkarounds that normally come right after the debut, but we'll at least get to see it.

Is social distancing still even a thing? This is the new Chicago "social distancing", lol.

SocialDistancingChicago.jpg
Social distancing only applies when it fits with the narrative. As soon as something that fits better arises, the double standard appears and social distancing goes out the window.

IMO, this thing is gonna sell well regardless of how big of a reveal it will or won't be. Who knows what will be the next big thing in the news cycle a month from now. Show the damn thing already and let the order banks open up ASAP and start securing sales. They could literally spread the virtual reveal out between now and when the order banks open up and maintain large interest and active discussion. They could show it one day, reveal the powertrains a few days later, the interior next, then exterior, etc... They could have a mini-series type reveal.

I think it's a good time for those who have been refreshing nonstop for weeks to take a break from the site. I know I will be doing so ✌
Then people will be complaining they have to wait a long time to get the Bronco they ordered.

I agree with this.

Maybe the delay is that they're working on something like a live zoom setup where auto writers can ask questions that they normally would have in person, and they need time to arrange that. We don't know what they're planning.

Maybe they'll do something more detailed than usual like closeup videos walking around the vehicle - who knows!

Yeah, that looks like the black factory photo we saw before, just colorized in blue and given some dusty background.

In the description on the bottom of this graphic it refers to "Bronco brand reveal". What is bronconation, just some 3rd party web site? Or affiliated with Ford?

Hopefully the July premiere means a solid in-depth reveal and info on the new "Bronco Bronco" model. Maybe even put through some paces on a trail. That would be nice instead of a more generic less technical brand reveal sort of thing. Will see ...

It's a Ford backed site posing as an enthusiasts site.

And the Bronco sub "brand" has been known for a while -- https://www.bronco6g.com/bronco-to-spur-sub-brand-with-multiple-models-including-baby-bronco/

It's referring to the regular sized Bronco (which this site is for), the Bronco Sport (the smaller vehicle based on the Escape, and other rumored future Bronco models (pickup, etc.).
