I thought it was one of the first mods mall crawlers put in their rides...? Lol. Curious why we haven't seen one yet...
And moreover, anyone have any idea where it'll exit the engine bay??

i'm guessing for water fording, there is things below the intake that would get damaged first possibly?
also, i can see if for dessert/baja type snorkel unless they've got a bypass some trickery in the airbox to stop sand being sucked in.

The thing will float before you get into water deep enough to need a snorkel. I'm sure someone will make one but it seems excessive.

It’s good to have for the trails in Canada. I have done lots of river crossings, or even high mountain trails that get flooded out. It’s more along the lines of a front locker. Better to have it an not need it then to need it an not have it. Hydro locking your engine is a crappy way to end a fun trip.

With all the electronics on these things, I’d be more worried about frying those before hydro locking the engine.
Actually watched a pretty interesting video yesterday. Some guy tried to jump start his ranger backwards and fried a fuse. Dashboard had all sorts of warning lights but it started and ran fine. While these newer vehicles are way more complicated, the way I would explain it is like a modern string of Christmas lights that can lose a bulb and the rest will still work. There are fuses that isolate systems to make sure the powertrain can run as long as possible. At the end of the day a lot of the sensors etc in these things are for emissions and to keep it running with optimum horsepower/ etc. Even with a decent portion of those sensors taken offline, the engine will just use the default values and it will at least get you home.

Easy answer for that. The build and price hasn’t been released yet.

I am no expert but isn't the snorkel for water thing kind of a myth? I thought it was for desert running to get clear air into the engine from higher up, away from the dust you kick up.
