Holdback is money the dealer receives to sell a particular vehicle from Ford. This margin is often thought of as the money that “keeps the lights on” , pays floorplan on other vehicles etc. In the used car market this is also referred to as “Pack”
Luckily you don't need to be from the Detroit region to be in the Ford cult... Then again I was more or less raised in the Bronco cult (albeit FSB's, I know I'll get shit from the EB crew on that). But an '84 Bronco was literally my 2nd vehicle and it grew from there.

I for one had NO CLUE about x-plan until a few weeks back. And at 1st glance sounded awesome (which I get it can be in certain instances).

And it's people like yourself (and quite a few others) that us uninformed look to for answers on this stuff. Google is great... Google is kinda like God, but it doesn't mean we always get information we can understand on the 'interwebs'<-- I like it when the old peeps use that term!
I WORK AT A DEALERSHIP IN TENNESSEE AND WILL BE ABLE TO GET THE D-PLAN PRICING WHICH WILL BE REALLY NICE

I am actually surprised to see how many people believe the X plan will get them a discount.
If anything you can hope that the X plan gets you to MSRP.

While at ford I would constantly check the discount variance on all vehicles between A plan and X plan.

things to note:

A plan is obviously always better - but still not that great in some cases
The steepness of discount tends to be based on the profit margin of the vehicle. A-plan would knock a lot of money off of the F-150 (large profit margin), but almost nothing off of fusions (at the time).

I would assume that the Bronco will have a large profit margin... but demand will also be very high so ford will have little incentive to offer good discounts.

In summation - if you can't get your hands on an A plan, you won't be paying below MSRP.
If your fortunate enough to work at a dealership like i am. I can get the d-plan pricing minus the hold back, minus the d-plan comm. that's a great deal on a Bronco.

No, it can be below. It is often , but not always , above depending on model. At least, that was the case. I’ve seen my fair share of invoices.
Dang it...now I'm getting more confused than I'd normally be on a late week afternoon....Looking at the Spreadsheet again......

Its not crazy complicated really, it gets all fouled up on here for some reason. The Xplan price is in one spot and its one fixed price with nothing to add or subtract. I’d bet the farm it will be a negligible amount either side of the invoice price.

Difference between 2 door and 4 door prices

Base - $4700
Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak - $2495
First Edition - $4195

Not much incentive to get a base 4 door.
In case you didn't already know, the 4-door base has standard automatic transmission, so there's $1600

Have hard time believing dealers only making 4% none would be able to stay in business hold back must be 20/25% or dealers would lose $ on everything they sell below msrp so this is not dealer cost

Average dealer profit for auto sales, excluding financing, for 2019 was 2.2%.

This may have been asked. Please forgive me it is hasBut I could not find the answer when I searched the forums.

Why are the High and LUX package higher on the Badlands and the same cost on all other trim levels?

Wildtrack and OB:
High Package - invoice $1217, MSRP $1295
Lux Package - Invoice $3375, MSRP $3590

Badlands:
High Package - invoice $2623, MSRP $2790
Lux Package - Invoice $4780 MSRP $5085

the Mid is priced the same across all models it is available in.

Crap like this certainly helps their margins:

WOW 400 for wheels locks I wouldn't buy from that dealer ever. I ran into something similar helping one of my boys buy a car and we just walked and ended up getting a better deal without the bs added.
