Why are there no cupholders!!? Also, Pics and observations.

Hello fellow 6gers. I was at the Bronco event at Brandon Ford yesterday and I’m now sharing too many pictures; hopefully it’s
worthwhile for those not able to attend.

Overall impressions: you’re going to love it. I mean seriously; as cool as it looks in pictures, it’s stunning in person. The vehicle will stand out on the trail as well as in the parking lot. I know it’s main competitor is the wrangler, but in my opinion, the Bronco makes it instantly obsolete. It’s like when the iPhone first came out. Jeep has to go for a full redesign, the electric version with the exact same look won’t cut it. The truck is big. Even the 32s on the outer banks required a bit of a hop up to get in. I’m 5’9” for reference. The 12” screen is the way to go if it’s in your budget. It looks really nice. The velocity blue was better in person than I expected, people will really like it. Still sticking with Area 51, but it’s close. Sticking with color, make sure you like the CO, I really disliked it in person. In the sun, it’s school bus yellow, in the shade it’s a bit puke orange. The navy pier leather color is better in person.

Complaints: without a rock rail or tube step, it looks a bit unfinished. Hopefully those pics uploaded. Why won’t Ford put cupholders in anything other than leather? My kids always come with their water bottles, and this is going to be a headache for me.

I think the lack of cup holders was the result of tons of R&D by the Ford Engineers. Their findings concluded that too many Big Gulps filled with Mountain Dew sloshing around on the trails was hazardous so they omitted the cup holders as a safety precaution.

That, or they were so busy arguing about what orange looks like and forgot to add them.

The more I see cyber Orange the more yellow it is. I am seriously contemplating changing my color. I just can’t do yellow!

There’s plenty of cup holders. But with a vehicle designed for 4-5 people, do you really need more than 6 in an entire vehicle?

I think it was more about ensuring the doors were robust since they could be removed. Having flimsy plastic cup holders increasing the outer mold line of the doors would make them more susceptible to damage. What Ford did makes sense, but it's still a bit frustrating. The mesh inserts will work fine for water bottles, not so much for fast food cups/coffee.
