Made a little video with some of my thoughts compared to the Wrangler/Gladiator (video was made for a friend to see it, so keep that in mind) Just sharing with you all

That throw length looks really nice. Did you need to lift a lock-out ring (or similar) to get it into C? Did you try going straight between R and C, and if so did you have to lift the ring again?

Crawler gear does require the lift two step process as you describe. From C to R, I did not attempt that so cannot answer your question on that

Nice video it shows the 7 speed very well.
Good to know there is a lock out for the crawler gear. Looks like Ford did everything right.

How did the clutch pedal feel?

Good shots looking at the upside down lettering on the switches which should answer those questions too.

I messed around with a manual badlands at a dealer event Tuesday for a bit and confirm that you can go from C to 1 without lifting the collar. You only have to lift the collar to get into R or C and once in them you do not have to lift it to come out of either and get into gear. I would say its possible to go from C to 1 or 2 from a stop like normal shifting once you have the feel for it, whether that's necessary or not is another thing though, lol

@ByeByeJeep Thank you for posting, great commentary! I couldn't make out what you said about the MGV. Did it feel good?
Neither of these were vinyl, but I got a handful of it previously and my impression is that it dominates the leather on feel and visually

Not heavy at all, and not feather light like in the Rubicon

it’s worth rewatching with the volume up, that particular commentary is pretty entertaining
