sorry - my math was wrong 55mm is over 2 inches. When you say 'better' - 2 inches inboard would almost certainly rub fenderwells and potentially contact steering components, no?
As shown in the table above ’better’ means closer to factory offset. 0 offset is going to change your scrub angle and is more likely to rub on the outer fender under compression.

For my personal tastes I think 17x9 +20 is probably about perfect for 33s and 35s.

The selection of wheels that fit those parameters is not great.

Like I said earlier, there were reports that the Overland Bronco rubbed with the 0 offset AND 35's.
The general GUESS from those who put a TON of effort into figuring it out,,,,,and some inside information, is ....at +55mm offset, the widest safe fit will be 285's as the uppercontrol arm starts to interfer with the tire if you go any wider.

This is why the Squatch, with it's 315's uses the +30 offset wheel, to push the whole inside edge wheel tire outboard.

On the circumference side of things, the consensus is a 34" tire should fit, any larger will require moddification/removal of the crash bars. The wheel wells are plenty large enough for all of this.

All the info is in this thread:

We just don't know for sure until we get these in customer hands. It should be fine if you keep the wheels close to factory sizes (like mentioned above), but we don't know if you'll need to lift the suspension from stock height to Badlands height to do it without rubbing.
What’s difference in height between BL height and BD height ??

Hopefully that makes some people's day. Same height, just lighter duty. 33s for everyone!
