52 pounds is extremely light for a 315/70/17 so I checked at Goodyear.com and the Territory is not even listed.

It seems Tirerack has updated the new specs for the Territory MT tires.

GY Territory MT 285/70R17 45 lbs.
GY Territory MT 315/70R17 52 lbs

None of them appears severe snow rated. I have updated the initial post.

EDIT: Tirerack updated the specs. The post had been edited to reflect the correct data.

Just noticed that the Goodyear Territory tires in 285/70R17 & 315/70R17 have arrived on Tirerack.

Seems both Goodyears are C rated.

KO2 51 lbs vs 285 GY 45lbs vs 315 GY 52lbs.
EDIT: The 285/70R17 Goodyear appears Not severe snow service rated (initial specs in Tirerack showed severe snow rating, but it has been removed since)

Well that's quite a weight difference (6 pounds) for the 285"s vs the K02's. I very much prefer the look of the MT's, but then again most any AT or MT looks better than the K02's IMO. We will have to wait and see about the final dimensions of the Goodyear's for a correct diameter. As far a snow rating I don't much care. If I decide to drive in snow I will buy dedicated snow tires. No tire is the "jack of all trades".

I am kind of a visual guy. That's why I ordered a 2dr Non-Sas Badlands in Carbonized Gray, optional wheels with the MT's. Everything seems to blend together well and nothing is OUT of proportion.

Back to the MT's weight. A tire's weight is way more important to performance than say the wheel weight. Any weight further away from the axle has a far greater effect on acceleration and deceleration. There is also the benefit of less un-sprung and static weight.

Hmnffff............Ive had Duratracs on the FJ for 3 or 4 years and think theyre great in the snow and rain, never had any issues. Super impressed by the snow performance, in fact. At this point theyre getting noisy, as others have mentioned, and Im hoping they pass inspection next Saturday since its gone once the Bronco gets here.

Would you guys know if I would be able to fit 33” on stock Bronco?
Black Diamond comes with 32” tires and has the same base suspension. I do not think there will be any problem fitting 33s.

As someone who plans to drive the western states including Idaho and Montana, where the speed limit is 80, I'm interested in road noise/tire howl. Any one have any input in this regard?

Adding in my 2 cents. I ran Duratracs on my WK2 (in profile pic) in 275 65 18 before moving to the KO2s. Good off road and snow tire and I did experience poor grip on wet asphalt, even when new. I actually had several butt puckering events when trying to make a turn when it was raining and it tried to go straight instead. I learned quickly and adapted my driving when it was wet out. One thing though, is that they became LOUD, like too the point the wifey hated driving in it and it caused a low frequency hum that reverberated through the entire chassis making damn near plastic piece in the vehicle squeak, rattle, and buzz. After about 40k, they basically turned into mud terrains for ride and sound. The KO2s are very smooth in comparison (they are still new though, so mileage may affect this), and great in snow. I haven't gotten them muddy yet, so can't provide any off road opinions. The KO2s also ran smaller than the Duratracs they replaced.
I had same experience with Duratraks vs KO2s. Prefer the KO2s. They are quieter and still look aggressive. I have also had KM2s and Nittos. KM2s get very loud after about 15k miles. Better off road but really bad in rain/snow on road. Nittos were nice but prefer KO2s to all the others I have had experience with.

So I couldn’t find tread widths listed on goodyear’s site but they are listed on tirerack. Not sure how accurate though.

Territory tread width:
8.3” for the 285/70/r17 33s
9.2” for the 315/70/r17 35s

vs.

BFG KO2s tread width
9.3” for the 285/70/r17 33s
9.9” for the 315/70/r17 35s

Kind of big difference. Anyone measure the goodyears?

Old thread revival alert….

I’ll be swapping the GY out immediately for Ridge Grapplers. Have no experience with RG’s, but my experience with GY is spotty at best. Every GY tire other than old style MT/R’s have been garbage. The old MT/R’s we’re great.

MT MTZ’s were also surprisingly good. MT makes a good tire, underrated IMO.

I’ll be doing two sets to get the performance I’ll need. One trail, one DD.
