I reserved in early October, 2 Door, Cyber Orange, Badlands, LUX, Non Squatch, Manual tran, 2.3 liter, tow package, MIC top. I finalized my order on March 19th, and was told i would have a estimate in May. YIKES. I am just praying my vehicle is here before New Years. Fingers crossed!!

It's called weight... mod bumper, skid plates etc

It also appears the gear ratios play a large part. I don't believe the weight difference between black diamond and badlands is as much as base to black diamond to solely explain the mpg difference.

how so? automatics are programmed to get better mpg all the time. manual doesn't have programmed shift points to optimize fuel.
They do have programmed shift lights. They always come on way too early.

Still don't understand how the 2.3L Black Diamond gets significantly less mileage than the BB, Base, and OBX; yet throw a 2.7L in and they all perform the same.
Aren't black diamonds the ones with the metal bumper and plates? Why wouldnt it affect EPA?

Yep I have these on my Fiesta and while a lot of people get them tuned out I didn't bother. Usually come on just north of 2k rpm which I'm typically shifting at anyway. It is funny when they pop on while I'm mid upshift though lol.

Those don't separate the 2-door and 4-door as far as I can see.
2 vs 4 door seems a key, because there can be nearly a 1000 lbs difference in weight between the base 2-door and loaded 4-door models. And you don't get to cart around 1000 lbs without some negative impact on mpg and overall performance.

I feel it's a bit ironic the manual Badlands gets the worst MPG.
with 4.7s, and added sway bar weight, plus sucky bfgs. Its expected.

Curious how these numbers play into Ford’s overall goal from the government to hit whatever the average is. Guess they are really leaning into the EVs to subsidize the difference.

Manuals have less parasitic losses. A smart driver can also cruise them in high gear more reducing rpms as long as they keep momentum up.

They are actually quite good all things considered. We borrowed my mom's 2010 Pilot a few years ago for a roadtrip and averaged 17.9 on the highway. 17 with a sas. and 2.7 is mighty impressive really. The problem is the 350 mile range.
