So they are selling roof mounted tents big enough for 2-3 people and then saying it can only hold 2 skinny people? So does that mean you can't put aftermarket lights on the roof with SAS?
Yes.Immediately went right to this section:
Anyone have a PERMANENT solution to disabling this, that won't break a warranty?
This was the definitive answer I was waiting for (not hoping for). I always wondered why no roof rack on SAS. It is a bummer, and has me re-considering SAS of the car is rated at no load for the roof. I had no plans to have a tent on top. I really just wanted a ski rack, and a couple of bike racks. But I can easily do a hitch mounted bike rack. I'll look around for a hitch ski rack, but I prefer them on the roof so they don't get smacked by road debris. They don't offer a roof rack with SAS package so technically their non-existent OEM roof rack would be 0lbs, but why not just omit this 3rd row completely?
Would the voice of Sean Connery be acceptable? Can someone read and describe the pics and diagrams in audiobook format. Preferably in a voice similar to James Earl Jones or even better the Beef, it’s what’s for dinner voice. Seems like it would fit well. Some of us can’t read more than two syllable words.

It’s not like the the top is going to cave in. Ford just doesn’t want liability for you rolling a tall, short-wheel base vehicle. You should be fine with a rack and modest loads as long as you understand what you’re driving and how your weight and loads are distributed. This was the definitive answer I was waiting for (not hoping for).
