No shit, the difference is paying interest on a depreciating asset.
Throw that out the window. Pretend there is no asset, that you are burning the cash. It’s still better to keep your cash invested fully in equities, and pay off the burned cash monthly at a low interest rate. You end up much better long term...and still have the cash to use if needed...

Old money vs new money. Old money can be savings, money market, cd's, stocks, etc. Even an emergency fund. New money is that paycheck that you get every week, biweekly, etc. Either way works. All about personal comfort level moving forward.

I can get 3.0% for 84 at my credit union. Sign me up for the 0% for 60 though.
It's hard to imagine anything worse for financial and mental well-being than a 7 year car loan!

Debt is NOT your friend.

You can’t make that statement in the absence of any other info...and a lot of your assumptions are false on here. I can easily pay cash, but will likely finance regardless if rates are still low. I average way more in returns on my invested assets than today’s interest rates, so pulling money out to pay for a car is stupid. 60k invested for 5 years in equities will give me about $96k with average market returns. My financing cost is well worth keeping that money invested. It is actually really stupid to tie up cash when rates are so low on car loans. Let the money work for you and spend someone else’s for almost nothing....and much less than average market returns.
Don't bother, it's just not clicking with him.

The financial "advice" given here is just a ploy to scare the peasants into canceling their reservations/orders. I'm on to you!

Honestly - if you're buying a new car in general, you're an idiot no matter what fantasy financial land you're in. period.

So I'm gladly an idiot, and I will drive my depreciating hunk of future retirement money that would probably be otherwise used on viagra refills and prunes.

10+ years paying off student loans because you tried to go back to college as an adult with kids and no help from a disgruntled spouse and then changed majors halfway through to become a teacher whose take home pay ended up too low to have any hope of ever paying off the loans?

Unfortunately for us, Ford doesn’t care that we’ve had to wait longer. It’s “out of their hands”. These delays have only further reduced the supply of Bronco’s while the demand is still extremely high. My guess is there will be only a Ford standard rate that’s probably 3.74-4.4%. I’m planning on my credit Union for 1.79% for 60

When you can navigate an ex who wasted away everything you worked for... then spend almost 20 years raising 3 kids on your own... working in a field that’s seemingly underpaid for what we do... and be injured and out of work for half of a year, smack in the middle of all of that.

Then I’ll let you tell me how stupid I am financially... otherwise, please let me be blissfully ignorant while I’m paying the interest that Is assuredly adding to someone else’s retirement account

This.
I know a decent amount of “wealthy” people. Few drive relatively new or even fancy cars.
